Aerosmith & Motley Crue teaming up for Fall Tour

From http://www.billboard.com:
Enduring rock acts Aerosmith and Motley Crue are teaming for the first time for a fall tour, which will begin Sept. 14 in Holmdel, N.J. The Route of All Evil tour will run for more than two months before wrapping Nov. 24 in West Palm Beach, Fla. Presales are underway for some shows via Aerosmith's Aero Force One fan club.

Aerosmith has been off the road since March, when it forced to cancel a host of dates with Cheap Trick due to frontman Steven Tyler's throat surgery. The group has been working of late on its next studio album, which will be the follow-up to 2004's "Honkin' on Bobo."

Motley Crue will be extending its mega-successful reunion tour with its original four members, which began in February 2005. Since then, the group has grossed more than $45 million from 120 shows reported to Billboard Boxscore, 45 of them sellouts.

"It's going to be quite a trip," Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry tells Billboard.com of the pairing. "I still remember when Motley Crue's first record came out. It was exciting to see them blossom. I saw them play a couple small places in L.A. and then at the Santa Monica Civic Center headlining. It was that incredible rush of when you first break. They really put on a rock show in capital letters. It is always inspiring to play with a band like that."

Awesome. They'll be in Raleigh. I've seen Aerosmith 3 times, but have never seen Motley Crue. I'm there.

I got into the presale at 10:00:05, and there were NO tickets in the first two sections. For $125 a pop, I better be sitting close enough to see Vince's fat rolls jiggle to Girls, Girls, Girls. I'll pass. Besides, the MC DVD is quite fantastic.

Awesome, but unfortunately they aren't coming within any reasonable distance of me (over 13 hours away).
