HERCULES Steve Reeves / Best DVD? Any WS?

What's the best DVD transfer of HERCULES and/or HERCULES UNCHAINED, starring the late, great Steve Reeves? Have they ever been available on DVD in Widescreen? Most DVDs I've seen of these titles are P&S and abysmal.

Retromedia/Image recently released the 1958 Hercules in widescreen for the first time on DVD. It's a double feature disc with Mole Men Against the Son of Hercules. The DDD link is

I don't see it at Amazon.

I was very disappointed in the RetroMedia disc. Yes it is anamorphic, but its full of compression artifacting.

I would love to start getting into this genre, but there are almost no real good quality disc out there for these films
Hercules in the Haunted World is by far the best I have seen.

(I'm watching this on a front projector, so if you have a fairly modest display it may not look too bad)

Big Reeves fan here. In his filmmaking heyday, Steve Reeves was reportedly the number one international film star. He did for facial hair what Yul Brenner did for baldness.

On my Reeves wish list are both Hercules films, Thief of Bagdad (one of his best, IMHO), and Morgan the Pirate. It would be great if someone would release decent DVDs of his films.

I've collected sword and sandal movies for years and practically everything out there comes from private 16mm collections. Some 35mm transfers are out there but they still look just as bad. The one really decent disc out there is Knives of the Avenger on Image. Part of the Mario Bava Collection. Anamorphic 2:35. Check it out.
I wish somebody would start putting the 60s Italian spy movies with good transfers. As far as I know not a one has popped up on dvd.
