Q. Who's a bigger waste of space: Someone who spends large chunks of their life playing video games? Or someone who watches them do it on TV?

Let me guess: you're over 40, right?

Spending time playing video games isn't any better or worse than spending time doing any personal hobby.

That said, I wouldn't watch basket weaving on TV, for the same reasons I won't watch video game players.

Agreed, what's the difference between playing video games a few hours a day vs. watching TV a few hours a day (like most of us here do)?

Though both could easily be considered a waste of time and space, particularly if done too much.

I've been gaming since the late 70's/early 80's (Atari 2600), but I have to admit I don't find this idea very interesting.

Now if they had Drunken Strip DanceDanceRevolution, I'd watch that.

But what do I do with the other 23:55 of my day?

I play video games, but I can't fathom watching someone play them on TV. It is tantamount to watching someone watch TV on TV.

I would say its more like watching someone play a sport that you could be out playing yourself.
