I just called to take off the claller ID which I wasn't using enough any how when I did the guy with my ISP offered my 3 times the speed at $9 less per month

so $41/ month to 32 and 2 MBPS to 6

more speed for less money can't beat that

it might not be any better in your area but they recently added more speed to the DSL offereing in my area

the only catch is you have to renew your contract for another year

bellsouth didn't cover your area?

I guess by the time I get my own house, AT&T will have completely replaced bellsouth.

is the sbc software required? I saw a thread in the pc forum about it being a major issue.

They called me a few months ago and offered me the same deal. I was sceptical at first, but there turned out to be no "catches". I guess they don't want you to switch over to cable.

I've used SBC DSL for a few years and I've never installed their software. I don't see why these companies feel the need to try to push their crappy interface on you. You're selling access to the internet. That's all.

I guess I should call. I'm currently at 1.5 and paying $27. The reason I've avoided calling them so far is because they'd adjusted me down to a promotional rate about two years ago and forgotten to cancel it, so I was paying much less than the usual monthly rate.

3mb down and 26.27/ month is what I pay.

You can also login to the at&t account manager, and from there you'll see a button/ad for hot deals. From where you plug in your phone number and it'll tell you what the best deals are.
