View Full Version : FYE/Coconuts Rebates?

Are FYE and Coconuts stores still offering rebates on new releases? They used to post rebate prices and forms on their websites, but now I only see regular sale prices. The last time I was in a Coconuts store, they were only giving rebates on older titles like Mean Girls and Forrest Gump. I also haven't read anything on the forum lately about in-store or online rebates being offered.

I was in an FYE store this past week and I did notice signs up stating what the price would be after rebate. So I would imagine that they still do in-store rebates.:)

the rebates never worked for me, I've come to terms that I'm never gonna get my rebate on that Sex And The City complete series set I bought the first of November

Yeah, I just got a postcard that I submitted an "invalid UPC," even though I did the same thing I always do. :grumble:

Yes, FYE still does rebates and they usually come through for me though it takes much time and work. As of lately, though, it seems they have been denying a bunch of my rebates for the stupidest reasons. I always include everything, too. So just call them up at (800-779-6219), and they always just approve the denied ones over the phone for being a valued customer. It's always extra leg work doing FYE rebates, but in the end, for me at least after calling, they do come.

FYE seems to keep rolling over the same bunch of $7.99 rebates into a new display for the past couple months (Nightmare B4 Xmas, Badder Santa, Kill Bills, Pulp Fiction, etc.). The $4.99 rebate rack looks to be getting a little bit more rotation anyway, but less interesting titles.

This month they also put up a just plain $7.99 sale rack with no rebates involved. Maybe that's a sign of better things to come. I grabbed Cheaper by the Dozen (widescreen, a little tough to find) off that rack. Didn't see a whole lot else of interest on it.

My boxed set rebates from February were just mailed out on 6/6. I've been doing really good on rebates from them. Everything's been approved automatically except one which they did over the phone, but it was keyed in $1.00 less than it was supposed to be and they wouldn't change that. The only other problem is that only 12 of my 13 Trek-period rebates showed up. Looks like another keying error on their part which should be fun trying to get corrected. That's 2 screw-ups and 32 successful rebates though so I'd call it a great success rate.

My biggest rebate disappointment is the WB TV one which is a bigger one and I'm still waiting to receive it. I'm waiting for a longer time than I've had to for any FYE ones. The form said it would take 8-10 weeks and I'm up to twice that now.
