at the beginning they were assigned partners by the surperior officer but they didn't get along because of cultural differences. then a big case happened and they were right in the middle of it. after some action they solved the case and along the way became great buddies and more tolerant of each other's quirks.

for the life of me i cannot remember what it was called - someone please help?

This is sarcasm. It's like trying to name that episode of Three's Company where's there's a big misunderstanding that causes Jack to pretend to be something he's not and he ends up dragging his roommates into it, but in the end everything is resolved.

Was that the one where the landlord thought Jack was gay?

What's the name of that horror movie where a girl is being chased by a killer. She makes it to her car but can't get the car to start. Just as the killer is about to get her the car starts and she gets away.

Was that one where as she was being chased she tripped and fell down, only to get up just in time before the killer got to her?

And was that also the one where that main character's hot friend heard a noise in the middle of the night, but it was only the cat, which leaped out of a closed kitchen cabinet? And then when she turned around the killer was right there?

I'm trying to figure out the episode of the old "Batman" series where the villain subdued Batman & Robin but instead of shooting them, he or she tied them up in some elaborate killing machine and then left them alone and they were able to escape.

Was that the one where there was a big fistfight against a group of henchmen with nicknames that were relevant to the main villain?

You forgot that she fumbled with keys, dropped them, fumbled with them again to find the right one, couldn't get the key in the door, etc.

Is that when you go 90% and she goes the other 10%?

That's the one! The villain also missed the opportunity to unmask them IIRC.

Didn't the white guy also play the best friend in that movie about the man and the woman who can't stand each other and bicker constantly, yet end up together by the end of the film? My wife likes that movie a lot.

NO! NO! NO! It was the one where everybody thinks the killer is dead but he gets back up again. Maybe I'm thinking of a book I read instead.

What about that one movie where the most unlikely of people ends up saving the world/galaxy?
