I'd be curious about what those have to say about a 4.5 star rating on this film.
I own the film and enjoyed the heck out it - bought it off ethiacd the first day it was released. Belle's rooftop "Parkour" chase and Raffaelli's "Casino Royale" were top knotch entertaining, the former being unlike I've ever seen. Though, the film definately had it's offsetting weaknesses .. some of which were even mentioned in the review, "Besson knows his audience, and no matter how silly "District B13" becomes, or how many times simple logic is tossed out the window, the film retains a core of delight simply because it has already convinced itself of its coolness..."
Though .. I have to say, he hit the nail on the head with the replay rating. I can throw this film in anytime and still find myself amazed at some of the sequences like those mentioned above. But, similar to "Ong-Bak", that seems to be where the only sell really is.
Btw - is this really the working title of the American release? For some reason, I was under the impression that Banlieue in French = District, no?
