The (sadly) official Real World / Road Rules Challenge 12: Fresh Meat thread
Starting on Monday, we as a nation are graced with the twelth season of the Real World / Road Rules Challenge, subtitled Fresh Meat. Unenergetic and crappy host TJ Lavin returns with a new twist. Twelve original cast members from the original series go against twelve new competitors never before seen on reality television until now.
All this week, MTV is airing a thirty minute preview special. The preview special seems that this challenge might be a little bit more interesting than the insomnia curing Gauntlet 2 (which I believe was the worst challenge aired to date).
Original Cast Members:
Coral (Real World: Back to New York)
Derrick (Road Rules: X-treme):
Tina (Road Rules: South Pacific):
Katie (Road Rules: The Quest):
Melinda (Real World: Austin):
Danny (Real World: Austin):
Wes (Real World: Austin):
Johanna (Real World: Austin):
Tonya (Real World: Chicago):
Shane (Road Rules: Campus Crawl):
Darrell (Road Rules: Campus Crawl):
Theo (Road Rules: Maximum Velocity Tour):
New Cast Members:
Aviv (very hot and seems likeable)
Casey (the stereotypical slut with no brain and very little personality)
Chanda (the stereotypical boring black female cast member)
Diem (the stereotypical naive girl)
Eric (overweight party guy, hell fucking yeah!!!)
Ev (the stereotypical bitch who is hot)
Evan (seems he'll be one of the few likeable new cast members)
Jesse (the stereotypical normal guy who is wondering why the hell he's here)
Johnnie (the stereotypical boring black male cast member)
Kenny (the stereotypical stupid manwhore with zero personality)
Linette (hot girl who realizes she's silly and weird)
Ryan (the stereotypical homosexual)
Gee whiz, the casting crew sure does know how to make a new cast fun and enjoyable!
After the pain and torture of The Gauntlet 2 which sucked out the life and fun of the challenges we have all known and loved, I am expecting the worst out of this challenge (especially with the new cast members thrown in).
However, if this season sucks, we'll be granted a new challenge in late 2006/early 2007 which B/M has promised to be a "return to the old challenges."

During the preview special, they showed video tapes the "fresh meat" mailed in, meaning they initially tried out for the original shows not expecting to be apart of one of the challenges.
And according to confirmed sources, six of the twelve fresh meat members will return for the next challenge.

I had to laugh at Theo; he was ragging on the new meat saying he would never go to starbucks and invade their "turf."
Does he realize how pathetic he is? THESE challenges are his JOB? My lord man....get with the ACTUAL REAL WORLD. I get tired of seeing the same people over and over again (COUGH CORAL COUGH). I mean really....get a REAL JOB (Tina said she's like the only one with a real 9-5) and stop acting like you are a celebrity, because you haven't done jack shit.
I'll be watching though, because I have problems.

As for Tonya, she may not have two sane brain cells to rub together, but her psychosis amps up the fugly step-sisters because they all hate her so much. Plus, though I wouldn't do her myself wearing a Bio Hazard suit, she's my first choice for for Team Lesbian Spank Inferno.

I'm scared because I'm beginning to lose interest in these Challenges. Does that mean I'm getting old? Is a walker and dentures closer than I think? Nooooooooo!
Seriously, I'm sick of the cookie cutter cast. I almost thought Wes was Abram at first glance. The only interesting person is the one that breaks the mold (at least as far as looks) Eric.

I'm watching the intro special and I think it'll be fun. I'm not going to write it off just yet.
They brought back some of the right people like Coral becuase they know she'll bring the drama as far as the new blood, more power to 'em.

Katie's good for drama, and she looks good in shorts.
I'll sign the Veronica petition, too.

Holy fucking shit. This season might actually be worth a damn.
The one hour season premiere this evening started off very slow and boring, but the fun kicked in once the rules of the game were announced.
The "fresh meat" being grouped up with the old cast members?
Oral votes in order to who ends up in "exile" (this season's gauntlet/inferno)?
Everybody hating the Austin group of people?

I love hte rules and will be watching all season (i'm a complete sucker for these shows, i'll admit it).
my early prediction: Theo and his "fresh meat" (not sure on name). He's not hated by anyone, and they seem to have a solid connection.
btw, i loved the reward for the 2nd puzzle on the exile competition.

Hilarious 1st episode (it was only 30 minutes right?)
One of the things I found funny (out of many) was that the Austin cast was talking shit about the fresh meat and how this game is dirty, will they be able to handle it and what not. Glad to see one of them leave already.

Luckily its an MTV show and will be shown every hour on the hour. Just tune in and it'll be on.

After checking, it looks like I may have caught the full hour, the lame challenge ontop of the building and the race between Danny and Wes. I just wasn't paying attention to the time.

All Melinda and Johanna had to do was vote for Johnnie and Tonya like some of the others and their votes would've made Johnnie and Tonya go into exile, however their votes for Shane and his partner sealed Danny's fate of going home.
