My forum name is wlj, and I am a Ninja Gaiden Blackaholic. This game is the greatest ever created in my opinion and I have been playing games for 25 years. It gets more time on my Xbox 360 than all of my 360 games put together. The graphics still hold up with the 360's graphics -- they still wow me to this day. The amazing thing about Ninja Gaiden Black is it is unbelievably fun and unbelievably rewarding at the same time. I can't describe my joy the first time I beat the game. I felt such a sense of accomplishment. There are lots of people that give up due to the games difficulty so that made it all the more sweeter. I have probably finished the game 10 times since I got it last September. That is not counting how many time I beat the original Ninja Gaiden(xbox) that was out before Black. Anyone else here addicted to this game?? Here is where you come for support ;)

I only played through Ninja Gaiden once, but I definitely felt a feeling of accomplishment, even if I did give up when I got to the end guy (it felt like it was going to take a lot of tries to beat him and I just didn't care enough to finish it.)

Got started on Black but never went very far with it.

The game is way to difficult for me. Ive tried frequently to try and play it, but i really have a hard time getting passed the boss on the horse early on in the game! I think its the controls, they seems too weird to me.

when i first got NG I thought it was too hard as well, but come to find out it was my tactics that was making it so difficult. here are some "keys to success" ;)

in random order:

1. Block -- This is one of the most important things to learn...I have the block trigger pulled almost all the time.

2. Don't stay in one spot -- jump all over the place so the enemies can't corner you

3. Ultimate Techniques -- these are your best friend. Use the "on touchdown" UT as much as possible. For instance if there is essence around -- at the instant you land a jump hold Y and you will instant charge a UT. Once you get good you will be able to chain UTs together.

4. Wall attacks -- very offensive and hard for enemy to block -- plus it is hard for them to hit you as well

5. Level up your weapons -- the higher level your weapon - more techniques. Flying Swallow with the dragon sword is SO IMPORTANT. also purchase Izuna Drop scroll -- great move but takes practice to get the timing down.

6. Stock up on elixirs -- especially before boss fights.

7. Save often and use 3 or 4 save slots so you don't get stuck in a bad situation.

8. Don't get too frustrated -- this game is not "cheap", but it is not a button masher --you have to use combos and tactics. It is supposed to be a hard game so don't take it personally.

You will be surprised how much better you get by following these few points.

I played Ninja Gaiden but not black. Is there a big enough difference to warrant the upgrade?

Hurricane Packs 1 and 2, Mission mode, Ninja Dog mode, new costumes, Ninja Gaiden Arcade game, new cutscenes, Lunar weapon, etc.....

however you have to unlock almost all this...so you must be able to beat the game on different difficulties in order to see all of this stuff.
