50's/60's Horror/Sci-Fi collections?

I've seen lots of collections out there like this, ranging from a few movies to 50--lots of low budget 50's and 60 horror, Giant Gila Monster, Attack of the Giant Leeches, stuff like that. Some of these collections are incredibly cheap---I'm not expecting great sound or OAR, but I don't suppose any of these have pretty decent transfers in regards to picture quality? I know, you get what you pay for---but I just thought I'd check in case some of these happened to actually be fairly decent quality. Not really interested if it includes stuff from the 70's on....

Thanks for any replies.

I recently purchased the Horror Classics Collection: 50 Movie Pack from Amazon. I have watched about ten of the movies so far. The transfers and sound quality seem decent on a standard television. The grain and print defects are noticeable, but not too distracting. Some people say they add to the charm and nostalgia factor. Do not expect remastered new transfers, but they are very watchable.

Packaging is 12 d/s single layer disks each in a cardboard cd-type sleeve.

A few years ago I stocked up on the Image/Wade Williams Collection releases. They list for around $20+ individually, but Image released them in super-cheap ($10+) two-packs. I ordered them through DDD and got somewhere between 15 - 20 movies for about $60. These releases are cleaned-up quite well and include some real B-movie classics like Robot Monster, Teenagers From Outer Space, Invaders From Mars, and of course, Plan 9 From Outer Space. (You'll even find good special features and liner notes on a few!) I'm not sure if the two-packs are still available, but if you're after some good quality B-grade flicks from the 50's, these releases are the way to go.

The collections can be a great deal if you're looking for these types of movies. Even some of the ones with new flicks can have retitled gems on them. Audio and video quality isn't the best, but if you're going for these movies, you're going for the movies, not to be awed by how great it looks, you know?
