Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction --> 7/11/2006

Sony Pictures has sent us over the details for the sequel, Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction. The Rated Theatrical cut will include a 1.33:1 Fullscreen transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound track. Extras for the rated version will include "Between the Sheets" - A Look Inside Basic Instinct 2 and a commentary track with director Michael Caton-Jones. The Unrated version will include the same features as the rated version, however it will be released with a 2.40:1 Anamorphic Widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, 10 deleted scenes with optional commentary, and an alternate ending. Both titles will be available on 7/11/2006.

Blu Ray version will be a 2.40:1 Anamorphic Transfer, PCM 5.1 Surround Sound, Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, and features and film will be identical to the Rated Theatrical DVD Version.

So the Blu-ray only gets the R-rated version? That'll help people switch over to the new format.

I never understood why it is titled as BI2: RISK ADDICTION. When I saw it at the dollar theater ( please don't hunt me down purplechoe ), the title on the screen just said Basic Instinct 2, as do the dvd covers. Seeing the movie I know that Catherine Tramell was classified with having a " risk addiction ". Why have the full title, if the movie and dvd covers do not say R.I. ?

I think Risk Addiction was a working title for the production that was pretty much dropped by everyone except people who knew it had ever been labeled as such.
