I just got a region free dvd player and I need to get some non region one dvds. Name some director's cuts or unrated versions of dvds from other regions that differ from our's. Name movies from others that haven't even been released in the US. Or name dvds that just have cooler packaging in other regions. Also, list places where I can get these other region dvds.

If you're mostly into mainstream movies, your best bet is the Rewind Comparison Database. Look in particular at the section marked "Winners by Region"

Michael DVD does a similar comparison of Australian releases (Region 4 PAL) with those from Region 1.

If you are interested more in foreign, arthouse, independent, and classic films, the premier source is DVD Beaver.

You should spend sometime reviewing the stickies and cruise through the last month or so posts. What you are asking for is equal to someone coming into the final episode of a long running series and asking to be caught up on all the characters and what's happended todate. To much ground to cover in one thread. DVD Beaver is another great site for other region's dvd's.

I would recommend Kill Bill Vol. 1, the Japanese edition. You get the uncut House of Blue Leaves sequence. As for places to go, as the above poster said, there are a lot of places to go (and movies to recommend for that matter). For Asian films, I usually go to www.yesasia.com, but there are a ton of other options.
