He's not talking about the new version; johnmoaby, the uncut version hits R1 stores THIS TUESDAY!

Well if the original and new versions aren't the same then how do they both run the same amount of time? This is unless the re-inserted material is so minimal that you wouldn't even notice it unless you've studied the movie? How long does the Scandinavian version run?

Where are you getting this information from? There is an interview with director Troy Duffy at ign.com that confirms this will be his original unrated edit of the film.

It's a bit pricey, but ... http://www.xploitedcinema.com/dvds/dvds.asp?title=4616

1) Just make sure you're region free.
2) I've used this site many times and never had a problem.

Here's a good list of Scandinavian sites that may help you .. http://www.theimportforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=4580

*edit* this topic should be deleted .. or merged with the other Boondocks thread, as your topic has already been addressed.

first, this goes in the international forum.
second, no reason to post twice and create a new thread. the existing thread was where this should go anyway.
third, as already stated the new version coming out 5/23 is NOT the one that is cut. this is very much uncut, even stated by Duffy himself in an IGN interview. please do the research before continually posting incorrect info.

welcome newbie!

Yeah, the new R1 release is not cut but it's only 6 seconds longer than the R-rated cut. Basically all the enw stuff comes in the form of alternate shots during the shootouts that actually show the blood letting rather than cut away.

A whole 6 seconds doesn't make much of an uncut version. You can get pissed off at me or not for what I'm saying but the truth is this is a pretty blatant studio rip for a double dip.

Edit: The new transfer is anamorphic so I guess that's one reason to dip again.

dsa_shea, a director's cut is a director's cut no matter how you slice it--if you want to get mad, get mad at the first, studio-meddled release.

I'm neither mad nor concerned about this release and what it ultimately has turned out to be. I have the original version of the movie and enjoy it for what it is. My original post was simply stating that both movies run a very close length of time (except for a tad bit of extended violence during the kills) and that the changes would be very minimal. I was also asking how long the Scandanavian version supposedly runs to see if by chance they have something different than what has and will be released here. Regarding my statement about this being a bit of a rip as far as a double dip is concerned, I'm standing by that. The two things that this re-release has to redeem itself is the anamorphic transfer and the nice looking packaging.
