er -- "Twenty-One Guns" -- 05.18.2006

"Twenty-One Guns"

Chaos strikes in County General when shots are fired and the gunmen get more and more desperate to make it out of the hospital. Dr. Kovac (Goran Visnjic) unknowingly puts himself in harms way while Abby (Maura Tierney) is in the line of fire. Meanwhile, Pratt (Mekhi Phifer) tries to help Neela (Parminder Nagra) as she attends to Gallant's concerned parents (guest stars Ernie Hudson, "Ghostbusters," and Sheryl Lee Ralph, "Designing Women"). Laura Innes, Linda Cardellini, Shane West and Scott Grimes also star.
So...Jerry could die. Abby could lose her baby. Luka's tied to a gurney. Sam and her hellspawn have been kidnapped.

With the exception of the first three, this has been a satisfying finale. Have to say...though he annoyed me in the beginning, i'll miss Mo'ris.

no love for ER?

That episode was freakin sweet. I am still into this show after 12 years! I've watched ER for like 40% of my life.

Good grief! That was whacked! The writers decided to just churn up the peril meter and ended with multiple cliff-hangers:

After withstanding the nutso gun battle in the ER, Abby succumbs to her injuries (or premature labor and passes out just outside the room with Kovach paralyzed/handcuffed/intebated and struggling to get to Abby who fell to the floor from the blood lost complication with her pregnancy. This was a bad day for Kovach, who also got leaned on by Weaver for not predicting the melt-down by Clemente, even though Kovach pointed out rather pointedly that it was Weaver who hired to loon, and she was washing her hands of the hire. Spineless Weaver.

Will Jerry make it?

Neelah's grieving and tore Gallant's dad a new one. Sad funeral.

Will Sam be on the run for the entire summer with Alec and her no-good father of Alec, Steve, in tow? It will look like she had a major part in springing Steve.

Wow. ER sure knows how to piss off their fans don't they?

I absolutely hate the "we need a cliffhanger to end a season" mentality- which makes me wonder why I still watch this show.

Sam and son of Sam- kidnapped
Abby - pregnancy and life in danger
Kovac - paralyzed, tied up and watching helpless as Abby falls
Jerry - shot and in bad shape
Morris - unharmed in any way shape or form
Gallant - still dead

Stupid Sam ,that was her chance to finally be free of her demon spawn.

Hope they don't kill off Jerry

Kind of silly how many rounds were fired. I thought I was watching a wastern.

Well, I am hoping that everyone will be able to pull through. Too bad we gotta wait next season to find out what happens.

Too bad Weaver didn't get shot, she deserves a round in her repaired hip.

remember the actor who played Benton. He left the show to pursue bigger things, WTF has that guy been in since he left ER? What a bad move! I didn't like his character though, so amen!

That was pretty much the only decent episode this whole season except for the one with James Woods.

I think Jerry has been on since the beginning. Hope he makes it.

Not sure I like the fact that
Spoiler:
Neela
will be getting a new love interest next season
Spoiler:
(John Stamos)
.

I loved that the one crook could fire 2 guns in opposite directions and hit more than any of the cops, half of which had decent cover to fire from.

Who was the bigger fool? Dr. Benton, Nurse Hathoway, Dr. Green or David Caruso? I think Hathoway is biggest fool in this group as she walked away from $25M.

Nah. They've had the occasional good ep this season. Not like Smallville...

re: Jerry - I'm not sure he'll make it. Abe is scheduled to be on another show in the fall. Then again, he left and came back before...but it'd be stupid if they killed him.

re: Neela - Well, it's not like he wasn't jockin' her when he was on before...

Not good stuff at all, in fact it was all rather silly. I knew as soon as I saw Natasha Gregson Wagner, trouble was coming. Isn't the guy who plays Jerry in a pilot or something?

Yeah and wasn't it nice to see Abby and Kovac in sad shape like that, good lord--no wonder people ditched this show. The worst thing? All of those shots dusted off and not one hits Shane West.

Weaver is a total save-ass bitch. Remember when she was going to support Greene on some board-related thing and then left Greene hanging there?

Interesting how they had the hat covering Gallant's sister's eyes so that they didn't have to bring back the original actress.

Will Sam's mob boss sugar daddy track them down and execute them all to save her?

NBC affiliates are OK showing Garret Dillahunt as a killer in one of the most violent graphic gun scenes on network TV, but they aren't OK with him portraying Jesus on Book of Daniel?

What was up with the rock song at the very end? I thought perhaps Grey's Anatomy moved to Thursdays early and switched to NBC.

I had started to loose interest in this show this season, but it really seemed to gain momentum towards the end and I really enjoyed the finale. I can't remember the last time I had the urge to 'talk to the tv' to try and get someone to go into the room with Kovac...

has it been confirmed that the actor that plays morris is leaving?

reason I ask is that he's made the right call a couple times in the last few weeks when everyone else was thinking differently. this week it was the internal bleeding in jerry
it's like they're setting him up to realize he's too good a trauma doc to leave

I'd rather not see Morris back, or Shane West's character.
