View Full Version : Do you vote for American Idol?

I ask because I usually don't. Mainly because of the volume of votes. I doubt any number of votes I submit will make any real effect. Nonetheless I dropped about 50 votes on Elliot tonight. I've been rooting for him since the top 12.

After a report I heard on local news during season 3 or 4, I really stopped even trying to vote. It was regarding phone banks, and said that during the hours they weren't in use or weren't being used as much, a person could rent usage for them. 100+ phones calling non stop for 4 hours is much more than any normal person could do.

So do you guys vote?

Nope. I don't care about the winners enough to vote. I'll watch the show if I can't find anything else on, but that's about it.

It also isn't free for me. Even if I was invested in the program, I still wouldn't vote. Besides, those teenage girls are waaaaaaay quicker at texting than I am.

I watch if my wife's already watching and I've nothing better to do. I don't vote.

I don't vote, nor do I even watch the show. I do like to follow Dialidol and its successes/failures though. Maybe that is just the statistics geek in me...

I watch it, but have never voted. I just dont care enough about the people on the show. If there was ever someone who I really liked, I may, but even then, I can be lazy so....

I rarely vote, and if I do, I vote only for one person once.

I didn't until they released DialIdol. Now I do because it takes zero effort.

No, because I would never have the patience to vote 100 times like many other voters, so what is my one piddling little vote going to do?

NO, never thought of voting in the years I've watched it.

Watch Idol every week, but since I'm not actually an American, not allowed to vote :( If I lived in the US, I would though.

Nope. Never even tempted. Not even if I actually enjoy one of the performers, which is rare.

Ditto. It's fun to just plug the phone line into my laptop and let it do it's thing for 2 hours while I watch the stats.

I was never patient enough to hit redial, so before DialIdol I never voted except for a few times.

I never realized what dialidol was until just now. Guess I'm going to hit it that way next week. How many votes do you laptop users drop in the time?

I don't vote and I don't watch. I don't even know why I'm posting in this thread!

On a good night I have gotten close to 400 votes in.

I vote each and every week. It's all part of the fun. I love "American Idol." It's a great slice of cheese.

Voted for the first time last night.

Had to help out Yameen - and get Kat out of there!!!

I would vote more often - but the line is always busy.

Naw...I'm a watcher not a voter. I think I'd feel a lil silly.

I watch cuz of the Pop Culture aspect. Just wanna know what's going on.

I've voted every year since Season 2. This is probably the first year I've stopped voting this early. Since Chris is out, it's not worth the effort (I vote manually).

I voted "No, I don't watch it". But the only season I did watch (season 2), I didn't vote then either.

Should've allowed for 2 yes options, manual or dialidol. I didn't realize how popular it is.
