South Park: Season 8 Announced on TV Shows on DVD

Wow, if Paramount keeps this up we should have Season 10 in time for the premier of Season 11.

That is one of the best 6-episode runs in recent television history. Just great, great stuff. I can't wait for this to come out!

How could you ignore Goobacks in that 7-episode run?! Hell, even the next 3 that started in the 2nd half of the season were great! Quest for Ratings was the only weak link in Season 8, imo.

It drives me nuts that the Simpsons can't come out as quickly as this show does. At the rate The Simpsons are going, it'll be like 2013 before we get it all on DVD.

Actually, the Simpson have Season 8 coming out soon as well.

As always I will get this season at some point. I still don't like the fact Paramount makes this into a fake three disc set and then gives no major extras and slaps a $50 MSRP on it. Great series, but definite price gouging on this title. I will find a deal on it at some point though.

South Park does 2 seasons a year, same as The Simpsons.

The difference is that South Park is basically barebones with 13-15 episodes while Simpsons are full blown discs with tons of extras and 23-25 episodes. The wait for Simpsons seasons makes sense, with all the people involved in commentary, and all the work, but South Park has only 2 guys that have to find time to do 5 minute commentaries.

This is not knocking the SP DVD's, but to use it as a model against the Simpsons is just silly.

Ok, I don't own any of these sets, so i have a (probably) stupid question. On the dvd's are the curse words beeped out like on Comedy Central airings? I just wonder if they are built into the show or un-beeped on dvd?

Amazon has it for $29.99 (and that includes free shipping).

Thanks, but that's not under $25.

I'm tired of spending $30+ on these sets the week or release, only to find them $10 cheaper a few weeks or months later down the road.

The only reason I picked up Simpsons Season 8 the day or release was because Costco had it for under $20.

Matt and Trey understand that these cannot be aired without the bleeping so they have come to write the show with the pacing and line structure to include the bleeps. Besides allowing you to imagine the worst possible thing they can be saying; it also makes the instances when they're not bleeped like the movie and the episode "It Hits the Fan" that much better because you're not jaded by the previous swearing.
