Genius Products has officially announced The Libertine which stars Johnny Depp as the second Earl of Rochester, a passionate rebel whose ideas challenged a kingdom and whose escapades scandalized a nation. The disc will be available to own from the 4th July, priced at around $28.95. The film itself will be presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 track. Extras will include a commentary with director Laurence Dunmore, 10 deleted scenes, and the making-of featurette "Capturing the Libertine". We've attached a small shot of the official package artwork below:

Did I miss something? Did this movie ever hit theaters? I remember seeing a trailer for it in the theater a while ago and waited for it to come out. I live in L.A. I think I would have heard/seen something.

TLA video states the version that is getting released is the 130min version yet with a R-rating. I thought some of the versions that got theatrical release ran at 114min with no rating.

Is this movie worth a blind-buy? The only review I've ever read of it was mediocre at best, but it's hard to make a choice based on one review. I'm a Johnny Depp fan (then again, isn't everyone?)
