This will be the US theatrical cut....as far as I've heard, there are no plans to release a longer cut of the film....

Did I miss something? Did this movie ever hit theaters? I remember seeing a trailer for it in the theater a while ago and waited for it to come out. I live in L.A. I think I would have heard/seen something.

TLA video states the version that is getting released is the 130min version yet with a R-rating. I thought some of the versions that got theatrical release ran at 114min with no rating.

bumped: restated question (now that it's on home video):

TLA video is incorrect. The available DVD is the R-rated 114 minute cut.

Is this movie worth a blind-buy? The only review I've ever read of it was mediocre at best, but it's hard to make a choice based on one review. I'm a Johnny Depp fan (then again, isn't everyone?)

I thought the 114min cut was the theatrical unrated (NC-17) version

so did i. i have read someplace that the unrated nc-17 version is the shorter more graphic version.....and that the r-rated version is the longer cut.

but i have had a terrible time trying to find a decription of differences between the two cuts ANYWHERE. i can't find anything concrete.
