Sony has pushed back Blu-Rays launch from May 23 to June 20. Interesting but not unexpected. Who really believed they would launch titles without anything to play them on.

I wasn't quite sure why they would launch titles with no players. I guess it was just pure stupidity and they have finally figured that out.

The only title not delayed is Underword Evolution. It is still set for June 6. It apparently will have all the features of the DVD. Will anyone buy this with nothing to play it on for two weeks.

They're were actually trying to show that the can release a disc. Or trying to show that a Sony announcement actually means something.

Sony is still insisting the title will be day to date with the DVD. So I wonder if its delayed if the DVD is delayed as well.

Sony insisted the PS3 would launch in March. They insisted their BD titles would launch on May 23. I'm gonna guess and say the HD is delayed. Their insistance is inconsistent. :)

Actually I dont think they ever said "March", but they stated numerous times that the PS3 would be released in Spring. They were even stating that 2 weeks before they announced the delay till November.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the initial Blu-ray titles more for the "PS3 gaming community"? These all seem like "game" titles if you know what I mean.
The initial HD DVD titles and the rest of the May launch titles seem to be more for mainstream moviegoers.

You are ignoring all of the other released or soon-to-be-released May HD DVD titles. They are all not "Soom" titles.
I see "video game" type movies coming on Blu-ray -- at least initially.
I see more general mainstream movies coming on HD DVD -- at least initially. There seems to be more of a balance. Some are action, some are drama, etc.
It almost seems Sony is marketing to the video game market with initial Blu-ray.

Blu-ray isn't so much catering to the video game market, as much as they're picking out titles that have a visual "whiz-bang" to them, that people will be expected to want to try out HD with initially. Think titles like T2, Fifth Element, insert any other flashy action movie in this space.
As another poster said above, HD-DVD titles seem to be more of a mixed release kinda thing, not all flashy action titles.

I holding out for the Blu-Ray <i>Fifth Element.</i> It already looks hi-def on my upconverting Denon 2910, so it better look DAMN good in real HD.

It depends on what the definition of "is" is. -wink- I would say it doesn't matter as everyone expected a Spring release and when they didn't do it, they called it a delay, iirc, as did everyone reporting on it.
Actually, if I tell you I am aiming for a Spring launch and then tell you that it won't happen for another 6 months, the obvious question is, "why the delay?"
