Starcraft Ghost cancelled
Title says it all. Apparently Blizzard cancelled both PS2 and XBOX versions of the game. Kind of a shame since it was fun last time I played it, and looked almost complete. I wonder if it'll hit XBOX360/PS3 instead?

I read in some magazine months ago that it was going to be a 360/PS3 title.

When they first showed screenshots of SC: Ghost a couple years ago it looked really good. Then all of a sudden a few years passed and it seemed like they went in a whole new direction and it looked TERRIBLE.
By the time they finishing working on it no one woud be playing the PS2 or Xbox 1 anyways. So, I'm glad they cancelled it.
The idea of the game was pretty cool though, I guess...so maybe they'll just start over for the 360/PS3.

There was a demo of one of the single-layer levels at Blizzcon last year. It looked awesome. They also had a playable mutiplayer map on a bunch of XBOXs for the attendees, which I checked out and found unimpressive.
As always, Blizz is taking their sweet time with their games.

And when they do release stuff, it's a quality title. So at least there's that

I can't say I am too surprised. Blizzard went through 2 developers trying to make this game, they just couldn't get it right.

I wonder what the big problem was? Seems like a no-brainer to make. You've got the world, you've got a story, you've got the sounds, you've got the characters, hell, you've got the voices!
Just let me blow up some Zerg and stealth-kill Protoss and I'd have been happy.

Maybe it's coming back in a different flavor? Blizzcon is scheduled for late August so maybe we'll hear something by then, if not at E3?
The China Court Network has denied Blizzard Entertainment the right to register StarCraft: Ghost as an E-Sport(electronic sport) trademark.
The Trademark review and adjudication board dismissed Blizzard’s appeal based on grounds that the name spreads “feudal superstition”. They translated StarCraft Ghost to mean “Astrology” and “Ghost”. Thus the judges of the Beijing Municipal people’s court were asked to not allow Blizzard to register the trademark.
Blizzard Entertainment developed StarCraft 1998; which would go on to become the worlds first professional E-Sport.
The Jury considered that trademarks, apart from merchandise, should not carry anything that might have a negative impact on the culture. The Chinese direct translation; "Astrology Ghost" fit their description of a negative impact and may cause feudal superstition, unfortunately for Blizzard this is both a negative from a business aspect as well as the type of story that tips their hand to their future plans for a new IP.
I translated the above from the Chinese law site
