Dockable Portable DVD Player/GBA

I don't think this has been posted, made by Visteon, this thing is supposed to be pricey, around $1200 probably...think it is licensed by Nintendo though, bottom of the page says "Nintendo®, Game Boy® Advance and Mario character are property of Nintendo, used under license." This is kind of surprising, why wouldn't they just make something like this themselves if they thought there was a market for it?

Well that's probably why Nintendo agreed to license out their technology (if Nintendo actually did license their technology for this use).

The GBA is close to end of life, no risk to Nintendo on taking the plunge on this hardware device and the necessary capital investment, but a chance to make some risk free return on a licensing fee, and not really a direct competitor to their handhelds...

On the other hand the company producing this gains access to a huge library of games to help sell their device...

I thought we had a discussion on this before.

Yeah it is basically a Car DVD player with a built in GBA slot. I don't see how this will sell well. You would think that all the people that would buy this already have bought their kids a GBA, or DS.

i guess maybe if some car manufacturers offer it as an optional accessory it might sell some...i looked around but didn't find any discussion on it, so apologies if this was already posted.
