DVD Talk review of 'Thank God It's Friday'
I read DVD Savant's DVD review of Thank God It's Friday at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=20852 and... This movie is also an indication on how LA enjoyed the disco era. Most people associate New York with disco but it was also happening here in Hollywood as well. We didn't have to beg to get into a club, you just had to wait in line until some one left, due to the fire codes. The Club The Zoo was Oscos during filming. --Before Oscos it was called UP for a few months, before that CABARET (where I worked as a DJ). Now the area is a shopping center.
I also think the transfer is excellent. I didn' t like the movie when it first came out but now I enjoy its simple plot. It has aged well. As for its cousin, Saturday Night Fever, i just can't sit through that one any more.

I got a copy the other day and popped it in. I like Sat Night Fever more, but enjoyed this one for the silly, campy feel of it. And of course, Terri Nunn pre "Berlin" days. Watching this, it's pretty funny realizing she has a Best Song Oscar!
