Well, that's great to see it getting another release (first time on DVD in the UK, isn't it?). I won't be buying as I already have the French one (w/ the "hidden" subs!) which was really expensive in FNAC, but I'd recommend anyone that's been waiting on this to pick it up as soon as it's out. Just out of interest, what is the R1 Fox Lorber release like?

The US disc is very poor. One of the worst DVDs I've seen. PAL to NTSC and something else horrible happened to the transfer.
The French disc is very good although faulty as you say. The subs can be found by switching your TV to 4:3 letterbox.

Thanks for that - I always wondered what the R1 was like, as I did think about getting it at one time as it was significantly cheaper. In the end it was easier just to buy the R2 France edition in-store - and although it did cost a bit too much, I wasn't too bothered as it's one of my favourite films of recent years...

Reservoir: I'm looking forward to this too - where have you seen the trailer? I downloaded the mp4 via the filmsdistribution.com site, but couldn't get it to play.
Pro-B: The key is in the tense: I'd "wondered" by the time I made that post, as Reservoir had already replied to my question and therefore I wasn't still wondering...

I like a lot "La vie de Jésus", and I've read that Dumont had discussions with former french soldiers, who used torture
during the independance war of Algeria, when preparing "Flanders".
Direct link to the mp4 video (Quicktime 7 required, Dazza)

Ah, found it here
It's the same as Tutut link but it seems to get it working on some browsers you have to paste it into your address bar.
If that doesn't work save it to your desktop. Install the great VLC and rename the file (open any folder and choose Tool/Folder Options/untick "Hide extensions of known files") and rename the Flandres files as flandres.mpg then open it with VLC.
Windows Media Player might play it too.

when the left click on the link doesn't work properly, I right click and save.

The other one is MPlayer which has a Windows port and can play everything.
VLC is the main player used by Mac users (has a Windows and Linux release too) and is so good that Sony stole some
of its code. (explaination here )
