Plot: A hitman (Statham) wakes up to learn that the poison someone injected into his body will kill him if his heart rate drops slows a certain point.

Release: September, 2006

The plot looks interesting...almost like Speed 3, only...internally. From what I hear, at one point, Statham's heart rate is dropping, so he intentionally picks a fight with a gang, has a lot of sex, and does a lot of drugs. *shrug* Guns blaze while he rips his way around the city trying to find the antidote.

Could be interesting.

He could simply just jog to where ever he needs to go.

They filmed some scenes at 2 malls near my parent's house.

Sounds intriguing in theory ... whether it is executed that way on screen is another story. Worth a shot, though.

I think Jason Statham has it. Put him in a movie and I'll watch it, doesn't mean I'll like it, but his screen presence is enough for me to give it a shot...and this sounds like something that would really work.

However, first time writer/directors, with this particular premise does makes me cautious. Do they have the storytelling chops to keep the ship steaming for the duration.

Still sounds good though.

but wouldn't he have already died since he was sleeping when the poison was injected?

Like in SPEED, he might have to get the heart rate up to activate the poison. ;)

I agree. Though The Rock (whom I also like) and Vin Diesel get all the attention for becoming "the next great action hero", Statham should be right along side, if not infront of them. He just drips cool.

With the exception of anymore British movies like Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrells, I feel the same way. Statham kicks ass!

Statham is the man. He's great in the transporter and snatch. Although he couldn't save transporter 2 for me...gack!

This one sounds interesting. Would like to see a trailer.

With the exception of anymore British movies like Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrells, he's yet to do anything good.

Fixed!

I'm gonna stick by my idea (ill-received though it has been) that Statham would be an awesome Bond if the studio chose to go in another direction with the franchise...

THis movie sounds interesting. Thanks for the heads up.

Actually, I just think he could do it just they way he is...

You have no idea

All hormones aside, it sounds kind of cheesy, ala Transporter II, but something about him (besides his good looks) makes him fun to watch on screen, regardless of the quality of the script or the plot.

It'd be cool if the movie had a heart-rate-o-meter in the corner of the screen.

The pitch: It's like Speed , but in a dude!
