iTunes Stats: Or The Race for 10,000
Post your iTunes stats. Here are mine:
9,617 Songs, 26.3 Days, 61.93 GB
Most are from my CDs or emusic. I bought a few albums from iTunes but once they broke Hymn, I haven't bought since. Ironic, huh? If I can't play the songs on other software/devices, I have no need for it. I'm back to buying the physical atoms. I rip them and then can play them back at any stereo or computer in the house.
It seems like yesterday when my roommates and I would argue over who was going to flip the album. If I was in college now, we'd only have that argument once every 26.3 days.

Are they all at 128 kb AAC?
That's a pretty big collection to start off with.
I don't really use Itunes. I only have just over 400 mp3s which probably is a couple days worth and just under 2 gbs but I'm always trying to keep my computer HD space down. I had many as 1200 songs but I only kepy my most favorite songs on my computer.
edit: Yes, I stopped buying music from Itunes after they broke Hymn too!

Current is:
1,378 Songs, 3.5 Days, 6.81 GB
That is with maybe 1/4 of my CD collection ripped so far and I am also missing probably another 500 songs that were downloaded during my college days that I have to find.
I do all of my rips in 192.

i got y'all beat. this is my current stat and it is WITHOUT my classical or jazz collections, which would at at least another 20GB and also without a lot of my classic rock which will add at least another 70GB - long story short, my first external HD crashed and took my classic rock cds with it, which i left at home so i won't get them uploaded again until June.
anyway, here goes:
22,858 songs, 62:14:47:51 total time, 127.10GB
-ringding-
edit to add: 1110 artists, 1959 albums

22063 items, 79:17:57:45 total time, 134.83 GB
2743 artists, 1731 albums
About half are encoded 160kbs, MP3-VBR
The other half are a mix of 192kbs MP3-VBR, 192kbs AAC-VBR, and a smattering of Apple Lossless thrown in there.
Mostly original CD's and a few Itunes.

3401 Items 9.5 days 13.04 GB.
All at 128kbs, care more about space than sound quality as I can't tell the difference between 128 and higher levels anyway.
Pretty much all ripped from cds, with a few being legal downloads or ones I ripped off cds I borrowed or have burnt copies of.

I think I have maybe 2 itunes downloads...i don't really like paying for downloads...if I'm going to pay I prefer the cd to rip at whatever quality I choose. Usually alt-preset-standard vbr
Still working on ripping my collection though...there's a lot more to do still.

This is pretty much everything; I think I have a few cd's I haven't ripped yet, and a few that are super audio cds.

The computers in the house just use iTunes sharing. The server is an eMac with an external firewire drive.

I don't use iTunes to listen to music, browse it, or rip it; I use it to buy stuff from iTMS and listen to the stuff I bought there, which is maybe about 50 songs.
Otherwise, I have somewhere around 27,000 MP3s. As soon as I buy a CD, I convert to mp3 and archive the CD. Even for the car, it's easier to put two albums on one CD.

The only itunes songs I have are the free ones they give out every week. Or the few I picked up with Pepsi's promotion.

For instance, I've got a playlist that pulls one song from each year, based on least recently played. So far, that's only 38 songs, but it can last anywhere from 4-6 hrs, depending on the songs. Since it pulls the least recently played song, it's something I don't hear very often.
Another one, in a similar way, is pulling one song from an artist that starts with each letter of the alphabet. This is done more randomly, using a slightly complex system of multiple playlists.
I've got around 40 playlists that I use to cycle through familiar and unfamiliar songs. The rest of the time I'll listen to whatever tickles my fancy.
