What's the best soccer game for the XBOX?

What's the best soccer game? Gamplay is the most important, but obviously having all the international teams and players is big too.

Looking for one for the XBOX. This FIFA World Cup game looks good too...I've also heard Winning Eleven is the way to go...

Winning Eleven is the best soccor game made if you're looking for a game that's as much like the real game as possible. FIFA is also very good but plays more like an arcade game compared to WE. It's much easier to score goals (a little too easy) and do difficult moves. I'd suggest FIFA for the casual gamer/soccor fan and WE for the hardcore soccor fan.

Another note; FIFA does have all the licensed teams where WE does not. That could play a part in your decision too.

WE9 over the most recent FIFA by far...and skip FIFA Street 2.

I like FIFA 06 the best. I prefer WE on PS2. Easier control wise with the Dual shock.

Winning Eleven is more close to real soccer but you are playing with no name teams and players.
FIFA is not that arcade in the latest releases and has more options for tunning your game. And of course all the licenses for the most important leagues in the world and the players.

Also consider that Fifa 2007 will be out in a couple of months (think it is due in October).

Is there a soccer game available for the Xbox that is anywhere close to the gameplay of Mario Strikers? My 6-year old son and I play the demo every time we hit the local Toys R Us or Blockbuster, but we don't have a Gamecube. I'm half-tempted to pick one up just for this game, but I thought I'd see if there's an enjoyable, light-hearted soccer game out there for the 'box first.

2006 FIFA World Cup is an excellent game in my opinion, although I'd just wait for the new FIFA to come out in a couple months.

I believe Sega Soccer Slam is the closest to Mario you'll find. http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpage...0soccer%20slam

Did you see the preview from LGC for Mario Strikers Charged? It might be better to get a Wii so you can have both versions + whatever else the future holds for the Wii instead of spending $50 on a used gamecube. Just a thought.

pinata, I hadn't heard of the Strikers game for the Wii! Since I planned to pick up a Wii, I may just wait for the Wii version.

Road to the World Cup was awful.

The second 360 release was decent. (subtitle included Germany).

My roommate and I play Fifa 06 for the XBox all the time, and we know little to nothing about soccer. It's just a fun game.

Is the Sega Soccer Slam game out of print? A few of the online retailer don't stock it and obscure sites have it for $50, it just seems quite expensive for an old game.
