Is it like Harry Potter with the year on it?

I'm getting the single. The double disc is horrid and cheap looking. It's just a cheap cardboard slipcase that unfolds like a wardrobe. Definitely not worth the $35 price tag.

Is it similar to the 2 disc Lord of War?

RENT IT, then - if I like it - I'll decide which version to get. It may be a while before it hits the rental shelves here in Japan, but I have the patience.
A friend told me that it's kind of too much geared for kids and that I may not enjoy it, that's why I want to rent it first.

Getting the double disc, but I miss the good old days when special editions were the standard for major releases!

I read in a Norwegian magazine that a 4-disc set was coming in October. They even had a promotional picture for the set. The movie on disc 1, special features on isc 2 and 3, and disc 4 was dedicated to the life and story of C.S. Lewis. I assume this will be a worldwide release, since it's Buena Vista who releases this worldwide.
