Polar Express Question...

I did a search to see if this was already discussed and I couldn't find it...

I bought "Polar Express" Widescreen Edition today and when I opened it I noticed that the disc says "Disc 1" The Movie WIDESCREEN...

My question is, is this the "normal" dvd for this version?

Did I get the first disc of the 2 disc version?

Very strange...

Mine says the same thing. Pretty sure that's just the normal version.

Normal. This comes in a 2 disc set as well. Disc 1 is the movie and disc 2 includes extras.

I had a similar situation on other title, but it was from Universal instead of Warner. Got me confused at first, but I guess this is a new trend now. Those greedy corporates.

Actually with King Kong it appears to go the other way. I got the 2-disc set and the first disc is not marked as Disc 1 anywhere, but the second disc is marked Disc 2.

A lot of the time, some companies just plain get lazy and don't want to change the text (or exclude any text) just to make another release look a little more professional. It's a minor detail that not many would ever notice, or care about, and the companies realize this and take the cheap way out... they just use the same disc in the single bare bones release as they do for the first disc in a two disc set.
