COD 2 Update (360)

I just put in COD 2 and an update prompt came up. I updated it, and the first thing I thought was "I REALLY hope this is the fix for multiplayer lag." So I immediately went into a live game (which I have not done in a long time, because of the horrible lag) anyhoo, the live game went AWESOME!!!! NO LAG!!! Just to let you guys know to look out for that update. Enjoy!!!

Ok. Do you know what speed it is? In kbps? I'm thinking of buying a 360 for Live but my internet sucks and Live on the original Xbox was all lag so I was trying to find out if Live on the 360 was less speed dependent.

Upon further review, not only has the lag problem appearently been fixed but you now have a TON more mulitplayer options. Options for maps, friends lists, private games, being able to choose what style of game to play on ranked and unranked games, and a SLEW of other options. Very cool.....

Here's the press release on it:

Fans of the award-winning, blockbuster hit, Call of Dutyâ 2, will be locked and loaded with today’s Title Update for Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI), the Title Update offers significant enhancements, including improved multiplayer performance, the ability to reserve friend slots in private game lobbies, post-game lobbies so friends can play longer, configurable host options and more. The Xbox 360 update will be automatically applied the next time users log into Xbox Live® with Call of Duty 2.

For fans of Call of Duty 2 for Windows® PC, Infinity Ward and Activision have also revealed new details surrounding the upcoming release of a highly-anticipated update, which will include the previously announced PunkBuster™ anti-cheat technology, as well as two new multiplayer maps: Rhine and the longtime community favorite Harbor, from the original Call of Duty.

After I updated last night, I couldn't even get INTO a room to play.
I would receive an IMMEDIATE, no games or whatever to connect to.
I'm not the only one, tons of feedback on the same issue on the xbox forums.

I'm glad it worked for someone. Back to GRAW

Dude the upload speed is way more important for lag free on live so make sure you post this as well, I believe Live requires a minimum of 384kbps for lag free play, go to www.speakeasy.net/speedtest to check it.

It's a case of too little too late. I appreciate the effort but they should've had this ready at launch or in December at the latest. Most everyone in my friends list is playing GRAW or Oblivion now.

(although to be fair, on the dvdtalk master friends list thread, COD2 was very popular).

I gave it a try last night, and I had very little if any lag. Now I did get the message that there that there were no games, so I switched to ranked deathmatch, and was able to join 5 or six games in a row. For the first time with this game, I was actually having multiplayer fun!

Also a road runner customer.
