Ever heard of this guy? He was apparently in The Moldy Peaches, a band I've never heard of.

My friend lent me his 2005 album "Gemstones" and it blew me away. He writes perfect 2 minute-long indie folk rock ditties that can be extremely obscene and hilarious (sample song title: "Choke on a Cock"). He delivers the lyrics in an accomplished deadpan baritone which just makes it funnier. He reminds me a little of The Beautiful South, that nasty little band that wrote cheery pop songs, and of the Magnetic Fields.

I bought his new album "Jacket Full of Danger" this weekend but haven't listened to it.
