New Rocky 2 Disc Ultimate Edition & More Coming Soon!

I just bought the movie F.I.S.T. with Sylvester Stallone. And on there is a preview for the Rocky Anthology Ultimate Edition and Rocky Ultimate Edition. Both with pictures of what they look like. It kind of looks like white and gold covers. Rocky will be a 2 disc ultimate edition, with the anthology containing 6 discs. No release date was on there.

If I can figure out how to capture photos off of Power DVD and post them I will.

Nice. Glad I held off on any version of these flicks.

As for the Power DVD thingie...it's simple. Pause the flick (if you so desire) and hit "C".

Damn it. I've already got two versions of this movie (the first boxed set, as well as just this film's single release from the new set.) If the transfer is good, and it has good extras, I'll probably pick it up.

Do they have to continue pummeling us with these Rocky boxsets? Why couldn't they get it right the second time with the Anthology?

Hopefully they have some good features for the sequels. Still, I'll hold off until Rocky VI comes out.

There should be a little icon that looks like a camera. Click that. It will likely save the pictures to the "my pictures" section of your hard drive.

I would imagine all it is is the current flipper with a promo for Rocky 6

It doesn't look like it's the current flipper, it's two discs. All the current one has is a DTS track and a trailer.

I don't see a camera icon anywhere, and hitting C doesn't do anything. I can't seem to find the pictures in my computer if it is doing anything.

I could rip the trailer but I wouldn't know how to upload it or anything.

PS: It does state new digital transfers and three new documentaries

The pictures are named PDVD_001.bmp, PDVD_002.bmp, etc. At least that's how it comes out on my computer.

I was gonna say, is there much of a point picking this up when you KNOW they're gonna make another rocky set with the new one coming out?

seems like the logical thing to do is leave an empty slot for the rocky 6 dvd. That way people can buy it, and add to the set when the new dvd hits.

Does the set look something like this:

Apparently a feature-laden Rocky special edition has been released in the UK. The rest of the film seem to be the same as the most recent Region 1 releases.

Here's some helpful links:

I have owned the 1st Rocky box for years, I won't upgrade, but that box if it looks the way it does on DVDactive, I may reconsider.

Hopefully, Rocky 6 will, well, rock.

Sweet, glad I didn't pick up the other ones. Although not having them didn't really bother me either

The new Rocky 2-Disc here (From DavisDVD.com):

MGM Home Entertainment will release a new two-disc Rocky: Collector's Edition on December 5th. Featuring a newly remastered 1.85:1 anamorphic transfer from high definition, along with Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2.0 tracks, the set will include an audio commentary with Sylvester Stallone, a second track with legendary trainer Lou Duva & commentator Bert Sugar. Other extras include deleted scenes, "In The Ring" making-of documentary, "Steadicam: Then & Now," "Make Up! The Art & Form With Michael Westmore," "Stacatto: A Composer's Notebook With Bill Conti," "The Ring Of Truth," "The Opponents," "3 Rounds With Legendary Trainer Lou Duva" and "Interview With A Legend: Bert Sugar" featurettes. Retail is $26.98.

Also look for the The Rocky Anthology boxed set, featuring all five films with newly remastered transfers, for $49.98.
But, no word on if the other movies have any extras. I hope they do...
