smaller TV's with built-in HD tuner?

I'm looking to buy a smaller sized flat panel 20-26 inch for the bedroom wall, and I was looking for one that had a built-in HD tuner so I can avoid the separate HD receiver. The guy in Circuit City tells me the smallest with built-ins are 30 in. The smaller ones haven't been made yet. Is he right? If so, when are expected to come out?

What's the cheapest way right now to get 20-26 HD TV? In other words, what's the cheapest with a built-in tuner? If those aren't out yet, what are some of the more inexpensive HD-ready TVs as well as cheapest HD receiver? Thanks so much!

Typically you will pay more for an internal tuner than the cost of an ATSC external tuner (~$200). Be sure to check prices of monitors without tuners, you might be surprised at the premium that internal ATSC tuners cause.

The HPLC2600N has a built in tuner...excellent TV, I have one and enjoy it a lot. It has multiple inputs for almost everything...along with CableCard.

Viewsonic is coming out with a 26" LCD TV with HD tuner for $499 sometime this Spring. That's pretty much why I've held off this far.

clemente, thanks for the heads-up. I'll keep an eye out for that. That sounds a little more in my price zone. Thanks to the others for replies as well. Looking to keep the cost real down.

AFAIK, all new model HDTVs from now on must have tuners built-in. You should be able to find a lot soon, if not now.

Best Buy has a Samsung, Sony, and two Toshibas right now. Shop around and you can probably find good prices.

I think the 26" Syntax Olevia HVX model has a built-in tuner.

Wow, that's damn cheap....I may have to jump on that for another room. I still like my HP LCD I got though. Great for PC and TV and DVD.

It's a little bigger than you mention, but Sam's Club has a 32" Vizio LCD with built in tuner for $900. I've read some good things about it, and have been considering getting one for our living room.

Just a heads up if your not opposed to bigger...
