360 Owners - Still have your XBox?
Hey
I have to admit that I am "thinking" about getting the 360 but I really hate to give up my trusty XBox. But "if" (and that's a big if) I do get one the wife will ask,"what about the other one"? First off I'm not some die hard play-four-plus-hours-a-day gamer. Second is any major puchases are always talked about between the both of us. With us it's take alittle and give alittle. Plus she'll look at it this way. Two gaming systems + more time to play = less time for wife and house. Not good!
I just want to know if after getting the 360 you....
(A) still have the XBox and play from time-to-time
(B) sold it and haven't looked back
(C) sold it but wish you didn't
I'm in no rush since it won't be for another month before seriously looking at it. But until I can walk in and see plenty on the shelf and not fight for one forget it! I just don't care for any product that has a "24/7" got-to-hurry-up-get-out-the-door build quality. Thanks for any input.

I sold mine a few months before the 360 came out. I only had a few games so I sold most of them, but I hung onto Halo and Halo 2 since the backwards compatibility had been announced by then time I sold the XBox.

Still have mine, but like Gizmo, not for Xbox games.

I'm in the opposite position. I have a 360 but no XBox and am considering getting an XBox. Why? Mostly because MS has fallen short of their claims that the 360 would be a multimedia hub (without the need for WMCE) It is locked down so tightly that it isn't practical to use... sure there's 5 minutes of "gee whiz", but after that, it is an annoyance. An XBox that has been "soft" patched, can have XBMC installed and deliver what MS had promised (but failed to deliver) for the 360.
Secondly, "Backward Compatibility" is not adequate. And there are no plans for an update any time soon. There are plenty of games that I would like to try... but can't.

Kept it for XBMC and use it more than the 360. Multimedia capabilities are insane. I bought the wireless thingy for the 360 and only use it to play live and download from the Marketplace.

I have mine, but it's unplugged and just sitting stashed away. However, mine is the HALO2 Green XBOX. I'm just hanging on to it, hoping it becomes collectible one day.

Still have my XBox and I'm glad I do. There are a few games that the kids play that aren't backward compatable. Room isn't an issue, so there's no rush to get rid of it.

I sold my XBOX back before Burnout came out. I knew I was going to get the 360 version so selling my system was a great way to help pay for my 360 and keep me from buying the same game two times.
The only other game I really wanted to play was Path of Neo and I've given up that the 360 BC list will ever amount to anything. I am waiting for the game to arrive and my buddy is going to let me borrow his XBOX for a few days.

Not only did I keep mine, I replaced it so I could have a new one that would work for years more to come. I don't need to mod it, I just want to play original Xbox games without worrying about emulation.

traded in my "clean" XBox as part of 360 deposit (paid $90 for it used, got $67 credit)
I kept my other XBox, as Gizmo said, primarily not for Xbox games, but with backward compatibility not as great as I had hoped from the start, I've been glad I kept it

i still have my xbox even though it only works sometimes (dvd drive) i'll probably pick up a new xbox 1 in the comming months because microsoft's Backward Compatibility list/promise SUCKS!!! its like the only game they made even work was Halo2. yeah i'd say get a 360, but don't get rid of the xbox 1 if there are still games you like to play on that system.

Considering I still have my NES, SNES, two N64s, two Dreamcasts, Saturn, and PS2, no I won't be getting rid of the Xbox.
What I can say is that I no longer play it. Since you're not a hardcore player, I don't think backwards compatibility seems to matter with you. The Xbox 360 not only plays a lot of older Xbox games, it also already has a small library of extremely good games (Condemned, CoD2, Burnout, PGR3, NFS:MW, DOA4, Amped 3, Fight Night) and there's almost 20 arcade titles, all of which are a blast (and Geometry Wars is one of the best games on any system ever).
So I say chuck it. I don't see an Xbox 360 price drop in the next six months so now is as good as ever.

Kept my original Xbox for the simple reason there is no way in hell i'm starting over 40 games, its bad enough that the custom soundtrack feature from xbox games no longer work on the 360 but the lack of transferring saves really cinched it in my book. It is looking like more and more Microsoft is really not trying to bust their ass on expanding the BC list either so rather then sit around waiting I would rather not worry about the whole emulation thing to begin with.

I traded it for EB games credit a few months before the 360 came out. I had just bought a PSP so I didn't miss not having a console for a few months.
The only game that looked good to me was Burnout Revenge. I still think it's a sham it's not backward compatable.
At least the 360 version comes out soon...

keep it if you want to play xbox games, cause they dont play good on 360 and being in HD most games look worse. XBOX games look like crap in HD. I would keep it

I sold mine before I got my 360, it helped pay for the new system.
