My Name is Earl DVD News
From http://www.zap2it.com:
LOS ANGELES -- Imagine for a moment a TV world in which Earl Hickey, after winning his $100,000 and getting run over by a car, doesn't see Carson Daly talking about karma from his hospital bed.
Imagine, instead, that he instead took a life lesson from ... Stewie Griffin.
Or, save yourself some imaginative effort and just wait until the first season of "My Name Is Earl" is released on DVD sometime later this year. Because then you'll find out.
Greg Garcia, creator of the hit NBC comedy, unveiled plans for the show's first-season DVD set Tuesday night (March 7) to the audience at the Museum of Television & Radio's annual Paley Festival. He says it should be released before the show's second season begins in the fall, and it will contain a fair number of bells and whistles including commentary tracks and selections from "hours and hours" of gag-reel footage cast and crew have accumulated this year.
"We're actually doing 15-minute mini-episode [that asks] what if Earl [Jason Lee] passed by Carson Daly and landed on Stewie from 'Family Guy,'" Garcia says. Garcia is a former producer on "Family Guy," and both it and "Earl" are produced by 20th Century Fox TV.

I've missed almost this entire season b/c of a standing Thurs. night engagement, but the one episode I saw was hilarious. I'll be picking this up at the right price. Thanks for the info.

I'm psyched about this too. I just caught the high school football episode last night that I missed earlier in the season. This is a great show. The "Joy's Wedding" episode was some of the funniest stuff I have ever seen on tv...

Sounds like a good set...although, I usually don't want TV shows twice, maybe I'll rent for the extras though. The show was good, but kinda let me down at times....some things were just not that funny.

I sure hope so. I can't wait to rewatch the whole season a few more times.

According to IMDB:
The complete first season DVD of My Name Is Earl will include an entirely new episode created specifically for the DVD when it is released on Sept. 26, Home Video Retailing reported today (Thursday). The trade paper said that the episode is kind of an "alternate" to the pilot, in that instead of repenting for his past misdeeds, Earl decides to get back at anyone who's ever wronged him. Ethan Suplee, who plays Earl's brother in the series, told HVR that the performers were able "to play around a bit" with the DVD extra. "I don't think we said f*** or anything like that, but I definitely don't think you could air it on television."
