choose between the R1 DTS America - (Pioneer) and R1 SE America - (Pioneer).

DTS is only in japanese, english is still in DD.
but on the SE, there are a lot of bonus features, and still english in DD, but japanese is only 2.0!


if you are an akira fan advising an akira newbie (me), would you recommend watching it in english or japanese? if japanese, in DTS or 2.0? if english, are the special features good?

i tried to look up info on dvdbeaver etc but had no luck. please advise. thanks in advance

i would recommend focusing on seeing the film in japanese, as it was intended. the 2-disc set could be the tin, if youre lucky you might have stumbled upon one... thats the one i would go for

so assuming no tin, if i watch the japanese version do i want the DTS or 2.0 (original?) sound

makes no difference to me, though of course DTS is better... bigger etc...
