Disney Gold Collection re-sale question & Iron Giant???

I have noticed that Alice In Wonderland, Lady & The Tramp and Pocahontas "Gold Collection" dvd's seem to be getting pretty good trade-in money. All 3 seem to have the same features ported to the new better quality special editions. Am I missing something? Or is this just a case of Disney movies having a good resale value?

Also, is their anything on the original Iron Giant release that wasn't ported over to the new Special Edition?

Thanks again.

Disney does have a good resale value, and some people just didn't have a clue about Lady & tramp until last week when ads started to show on television. I had heard blockbuster was offering outragous money for some disney titles.

pocahontas had the same music videos, and Lady & Tramp GC was next to bare. Alice in Wonderland had a few things not ported over, but the new edition is far superior.

Iron Giant had a making of feature on the original disc that didn't come over.

Btw, Iron Giant is a Warner release. Good movie though.

So do the older versions have good resale value because they're rare, or because people didn't wait around for the re-release? I was thinking of getting rid of some of my older Disney releases...

Since The Little Mermaid is being re-released in October, should I sell my original disc, or keep it?

chances are that if you sell it now, it would pay for the re-release

Sell it now before too many people get a clue that it's coming out in October. The video quality will undoubtably be better on the new version. I sold ours before the previews for the Platinum edition came out on Lady and the Tramp.
