Ok, at random, this movie came to mind and I'd like to know what it is called if anyone remembers it. It could have been a "made of tv movie"... I can't be sure of that.

Anyway, it involved a building, and a certain floor of this building was haunted. I think the elevator wouldn't stop at that floor. And there was this guy on that floor who wore a suit and played the piano. Oh yeah, he also had an ax. I think the walls were all red on this "mystery floor".

One part that sticks out in my memory is when the "ax man" cuts someone's hand off when they are entering/exiting the elevator.

It must have been about 15 years ago that I saw this on TV. But then again, it could have just been a nightmare I had as a kid.

Any thoughts are appreciated. Otherwise, please just disregard. Thanks!

That's the movie, definitely. Seems like it played on TBS a lot. I remember it got kinda creepy towards the end.

I saw the thread title and thought "The Shining?"

I thought "Pieces," except that was a guy with a chainsaw.

If that doesn't work out for you, it looks like used copies are selling on Amazon for $25+.
