Saw Alison Krauss last night...

Lord have mercy that woman can sing like no other. I had never heard her live before. There aren't many people who sound just as good live as they do on studio cuts. They seemed very casual and "nonscripted" during the filler time. That made for a few slow times here and there, but also seemed a lot more real.

The only slipup was when Dan Tyminski, the acoustic guitar player, just straight up forgot the words to one of his songs. He was so lost they practically turned it into an instrumental except for a little adlibbing here and there. He made it amusing nonetheless.

I don't really care for country music very much, but I don't think anyone can not enjoy listening to a voice like that. I would recommend checking them out if you want to hear one of the best female vocalists of all time. She truly does have the voice of an angel.

I've never seen her perform live, but her live 2-DVD set is one of my favorite music videos. Great picture, awesome DTS sound and some nice bonuses as well.

I've recently discovered that I like her music. I may have to pick that show up.

I've seen them live twice now, once in a small theater of about 800 people, and then on the last tour with about 8000 people. Each time it was an absolutely incredible show. AKUS are of the caliber that I will see them each time they come to town and continue to be astounded time and time again.

I just watched the DVD this past weekend too and floored some of my friends with it who weren't familiar with them.

I've seen her four times- twice in a 400 seat concert hall before "O Brother" came out, once at Ryman in Nashville, and last year at the Orpheum in Memphis. We lucked out and had front row at Orpheum show. Every show has been flawless.

Krauss sings like an Angel. I love AK and Union Station.

I went and purchased the DVD yesterday. A fantastic way to spend two hours. The picture was amazing and she seems like such a nice, down-to-earth person.

She definitely seemed down to earth when I saw her. Actually, she was just straight up goofy sometimes. It wasn't a bad thing; it just took me off gaurd at first. Most of their music is just so serious and somber, I didn't expect her to be like that.

I have watched and enjoyed the performance on HDNET.

Anyone know if that is the same as the DVD? I am guessing it is.

I know the DVD was shot in HD. If it was in Louisville, then it was the same.

She's hilarious! She had the audience cracking up both times I saw her, and she's funny on the DVD too.

Considering how exceptional the quality is on the DVD now, can you imagine how good the picture and sound will be on it once they release the HD version!?!?!?!
