Wow. If you're a classic movie fan, this sale is an embarrassment of riches. I skimmed through the list and found over 100 titles from my classics "wish list" that I was waiting to buy at the 20% discount sale in the spring. This sale is even better than that. I saw most of the Woody Allen catalog, Eastwood's spaghetti westerns, the Pink Panthers, the Apartment, Platoon, Inherit the Wind, Raging Bull, Midnight Cowboy, Manchurian Candidate, Red River and on and on and on.

My wallet will be a lot lighter in a few hours. Thanks for the heads-up, gribalski. Happy shopping to all!

If you are like me and don't like the DDD search feature, just go to dvdpricesearch and use their Power Search - it allows you to filter by studio, store, and price range, plus it gives more than 5 results per page.

Arod1171, what were you searching for when you recieved 5 titles per page? Was it in one of the genre rooms? When you do a search in the search box you should get at least 10 results.

We'll take a look at increasing the results in the genre rooms as well.

Hi Dave,

Since B2G1 link isn't working, I went through the link posted by gribalski at the top of the thread and worked my way from pages 15 through 207 at 5 per page. I put in an order for 24 DVDs early this morning of titles I definitely want, but I have to go through all the titles again more closely. I'll wait for the B2G1 link to work before putting in my next order. Any improvement on 5 per page will help.

By the way, this is slightly off topic, but are there plans in DDD's future for more studio sales like this? Thanks.

I put a bunch of DVDs in my shopping cart and whittled the list down a bit. It's easy to remove DVDs that you're charged for (change quantity to 0) but is there an easy way to remove a free DVD? I had to remove DVDs I wanted so that the free title would move up, in order for me to delete it.

Uhhh...if you look at the MGM ad, at the top of each of the 19 pages of MGM sale DVDs on DDD's site, it tells you how long the sale lasts.

I came up with 47 titles. I think I need to narrow it down some. Or declare bankruptcy.

Does anyone know why DDD does not carry MGM's recent release of Son of the Pink Panther and why the Curse of the Pink Panther in this sale is listed as the old pan & scan version instead of the new letterbox one?

I thought maybe they'd both be part of the buy 2 get 1 free MGM sale, but it seems like these 2 DVDs are almost impossible to find anywhere (probably because they aren't very good movies but that's beside the point).

Another curiosity: A March 7th preorder I had at DDD says it shipped today. Is that common practice (i.e. are they allowed to ship 1 week early) because they figure it'll take at least 1 week to arrive via media mail?

Slightly off topic, can one do a studio search at DDD? The OP had a link to what looked like a complete listing of all MGM titles on the site. This is something I've wanted to be able to do ... but I can't seem to figure out how to do it :blush:

It's kind of a cheat. Basically, you can hit that link for the MGM titles. Then, at the beginning of the URL, replace the "MG" where it says "MG&Prefix=MGD" with the first two letters of the company that you are wanting to see the entire list for and "MGD" with all three letters of the company(you can find this by entering a DVD title that you know is from that company, and then stealing the first letters from the "Item Number" in the product page - Warner Bros is WBD, Home Vision [criterion,etc.] is HVD, etc.).

It'll still read "MGM Home Video" but the listing will be all the titles from that studio. If you want the "MGM Studio" thing to change, replace the "title=MGM" to "title=whateveryouwant". I hope DDD doesn't get mad at me for doing this. But it's a nice way to check out all the titles of a company.

It appears this sale is now dead. The link above works, but putting three titles in your cart won't give you one of them for free. Too bad, I was going to put in one final order for some VAN DAMME films.
