Any news on an Arthur DVD re-release as a SE?
I was just wondering if the movie "Arthur" is scheduled to be re-released as a special edition/remastered?
I really enjoy this movie and the ancient DVD is pretty crappy. It was like one of the first DVD's ever released it seems.

Probably not gonna happen soon.
A recent re-release by Warner with Arthur 2: On The Rocks together. Warner could have provided a Widescreen transfer of Arthur for that 2 in 1 pack.
I am hoping they do an Ace Ventura 2 for 1 with a Widescreen transfer of the 1st film. They won't though. They bite.

I'd gladly double-dip on this, even if it was just to get it in widescreen, without any extras. Audio commentary by Liza Minnelli would be interesting, since one by Dudley Moore and/or the director ain't gonna happen...

From the chat:
(PaulScott) Much thanks for making yourselves so accessible as well as the generally high quality of your output (and the use of original Key art on the jackets is VERY MUCH appreciated!). any chance for A Summer Place, a Natalie Wood boxset or remasters of Outland, Exclaibur or Year of Living Dangerously or Arthur?
(Warner) Good questions, Mr. Scott!
(Warner) Thank you for the nice words about our packaging. I'll pass them along to our unsung heroes and heroines at WHV Creative Services!
(Warner) We want to release A SUMMER PLACE. it will probably be next year, as will a Natalie Wood set. We know ARTHUR, EXCALIBUR and OUTLAND all need to be improved in quality. We'll be looking into all of them, and DANGEROUSLY, and especially ARTHUR, since this year is his silver anniversary, and we have a sparkling new transfer!
