Some New A&E Baseball sets. Updated!

Looks like the Boston and NYY sets sold enough to warrant a few more teams. These seem pretty interesting and i may be tempted to pick them up if the price is right and when more details are released.

Pittsburg Pirates 1979 World Series Collectors Ed.:

The 1979 World Series was one of the most spectacular seasons in the Pittsburgh Pirates' history. This release presents over 15 hours of footage from the season, and contains complete games, stats, analysis, and much more. Total of 7 disks. Due May 9, 2006

St. Louis Cardinals Greatest Games at Busch Stadium:

Over 17 hours of footage brings Cardinals fans some of the best games ever witnessed at their Busch Stadium on this release. As well as games such as Game 3 from the 1987 World Series and Game 7 from the National League Championship Series, there are stats, commentary, analysis, and trivia throughout. Due April 25, 2006.

I've seen reports that the St. Louis set is one disk but that can't be right. Hopefully more info will come out on these sets soon, as i really like the Boston set and if all goes well more sets like these will come.

The Cardinals set includes the following games:

*1968 WORLD SERIES GAME 1: Bob Gibson’s record-setting, 17-strikeout masterpiece
*1982 WORLD SERIES GAME 7: From a pre-game flip, to a late-rally, the Cardinals secure a World Series Championship
*1985 NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES GAME 5: The incredible, improbable, bottom-of-the-ninth, game-winning-homer by Ozzie Smith
*1987 WORLD SERIES GAME 3: Brilliant pitching and Vince Coleman’s clutch hitting spark a Redbirds victory
*1998 MARK McGWIRE’S 62nd HOME RUN: The magnificent crescendo of a mesmerizing race for the record; “Big Mac”, Mark McGwire’s record-setting homer began an emotional, unforgettable celebration
*2004 NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES GAME 7: This come-from-behind pennant-clinching victory was powered by the clutch hitting of Albert Pujols and Scott Rolen

UPDATE: I just noticed 2 other sets that are being released on 3/28/06.

Chicago White Sox 2005 world Series:
7-disk set which has all 4 world series games and and the clinching games against the red sox and Angels. Best Price is DDD at about $42.

1986 New York Mets World Series:
9-Disk set. which includes all 7 games of the world series plus the NLCS game 6 against the Astros which went 16 inning's. Best price is about $54 online at DDD.

I currently have both of these on preorder at work and i pray that they keep doing this. Along with the New York Rangers 94 Stanley Cup, i think sports are finally getting superb treatments on dvd. I hope this continues.

Even though they lost a VERY close World Series, this DVD has lots of people in Houston excited.

I'd rather see a 1971 Pirates version, with the great Roberto Clemente (WS MVP), my favorite ballplayer ever.

Great news for Cards fans (of which, unfortunately, I am not one)...

I hope that A&E keeps some more vintage World Series sets coming. There are several from the 70's and 80's that I would buy, and even one from the early 90's.
