If that match was on Impact it would be a 3 minute squash, but to see those two work a real match together would be awesome. I've seen Roderick wrestle several times at local FIP and NWA Florida indy shows and the guy is amazing, he might have a boring look but the guy is awesome in the ring, he's going to be a big star, I was thrilled when TNA picked him up.

TNA / Goldberg Rumor Update
(from one of those Wrestling News Boards)
"The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that negotiations have gone well between TNA and Goldberg. While it isn’t safe to say anything is expected yet, both sides are hopeful.
Goldberg is said to be very enthusiastic about working for TNA. This is likely because he doesn’t want to be remembered for his last match at Madison Square Garden with Brock Lesnar. Another thing motivating him to work with TNA, is said to be his dislike for Vince McMahon, who he doesn’t even like to talk about.
If a deal is worked out between the two, it’s likely he would wrestle a few matches. It isn’t likely that they will try to build the company around him, or even make him a regular. However, if Spike TV decides to pitch in the money, he could be around for a bit longer than a few matches. "

:( It's over for Goldberg.. doesn't he realize that? As much as I marked out for his streak during WCW.. he just doesn't belong in wrestling anymore. And not because of the Brett Hart incident. It was a one time gimmick. The push of a lifetime. Now you just can't give him the automatic title shot and you can't let him squash your whole roster.

anyone who dislikes TNA.... here is some good news for you..... Goldberg might be joining TNA...
unfortunately for me(someone who likes TNA) i am completely disgusted with that.... i know they need big names for their company but spend the money the right way.... Goldberg sucks worse then Monty Brown....

"**Finally to address the reports and speculation surrounding TNA and myself.
On the afternoon before the A.A.O. PPV I was contacted by TNA management and told that because of concerns over the imminent winter storm they wanted all their talent in the NE to come down to Florida that night. I was asked to catch a flight from N.Y. to Orlando at 7:30pm. This put me in a very difficult position because I was on my way to the ROH show in Long Island I was booked to wrestle on that evening. Faced with having to make the choice between canceling last minute on ROH, or going against TNA's wishes, I quickly realized I was between a rock and a hard place. Given all the information presented to me at the time and taking my own personal and financial situations within both companies into account, I made an extremely difficult, and somewhat risky, decision that I was going to honor my commitment to ROH that night, and hopefully fly out in the morning from Philadelphia to Orlando and honor my commitment to TNA as well. Luckily I was able to make it down to Orlando on the one flight that wasn't cancelled. By the time I reached Universal Studios, however, I was 4 hours late. Thankfully, I was in time to still competed on the PPV that night and live up to my commitments to both companies and their fans.
On Tuesday shortly before my Impact! match against Christopher Daniels, I was informed by TNA management that they would be suspending me for 2 months for my tardiness and not following their request which would have prevented me from being late. Now there's a lot of debate over TNA's decision and if it's fair or not. I personally understand TNA's position on this matter and completely respect the fact that they're entitled to protect their interests as they see fit. And while I was also entitled and within my contractual rights to make the tough decision I did, I fully accept the consequences of my decision.***
Hopefully this will clear up any misinformation, and/ or speculation about this story. My hope is that once my suspension is served this whole situation will be put behind us with no ill will. I look forward to my return to TNA as it gears up for it's huge primetime debut April 13 on Spike TV. In the meantime I will continue to stay busy with my numerous other bookings and prepare myself for my TNA return. Thank you to all my friends and fans who have supported me and the decisions I have made. It has meant a lot knowing that the people I so passionately perform for respect and appreciate the sacrifices I make to do what I love to do. So until next time...***
Safe Travels,
-Aries"

classy of him to say but TNA is dumb for still letting their employees work ROH.

I don't think they pay their wrestlers enough to have them stay with the company exclusively, and I thought one of the "perks" of TNA was that you could work whatever other events you wanted.
Besides, isn't TNA still bleeding money at this point?

Well at least Aries/Strong will have more free time to devote to ROH now. Which is a good thing.

A suspension like that seems to be cutting off your nose to spite your face. I agree with TNA that he should've flown down to Florida as soon as he could. It was for a PPV, he's under contract to TNA, and every weather forecaster in the area was saying that it was going to be a big snowstorm (which it was). ROH and other indy feds need to realize that when a guy is under contract, he can be pulled at the last second for any reason. Aries and Strong wanted to do right by ROH and the few hundred fans in the arena, which is admirable, but how about some loyalty to your main employer and the millions...ok, it's TNA....thousands of PPV fans. This may spell the end of TNA guys being allowed to work other feds, especially the night before a PPV. Still, two months?

I guess they want to set an example, and at least Aries has a good outlook on it. I mean, if he had been fatigued by the late flight or didn't have enough time to prepare, he could easily hurt someone in the ring, especially with the high risk stuff they do. But I agree 2 months is a lot... it's not like he no-showed like Hardy or Nash. Speaking of whom, is Jeff still under contract (because of licensing revenue) but suspended? I was kinda hoping he'd jump back to the WWE to reunite with his brother instead of having Matt and Tatanka being the tag champs.

ULTIMATE WARRIOR SAYS IF TNA WANTS TO COMPETE WITH WWE, THEY SHOULD BE HIRING HIM AND GOLDBERG TO WRESTLE
by Mike Johnson @ 3:25:00 PM on 2/24/2006
In the latest commentary on his official website, former WWF champion The Ultimate Warrior discusses TNA's decision to bring Sting into the company. Referring to Sting's recent media conference call, Warrior writes that the company should invest their money in bringing in Warrior to face former WCW World champion Goldberg, but the price wouldn't be small.
Warrior wrote, "[Sting] also mentioned in the press conference that Ultimate Warrior coming to TNA would be interesting. Yes, I have to agree -- it would be very interesting. What would be more interesting is if the TNA execs had the creativity, integrity and balls to entertain it seriously. Frankly, what they should do, if they want to be competitive (there's that nasty blood, sweat and tears word again), is sell some of those construction materials Daddy Jarrett has laying around, and put up the financing to bring in Goldberg and Ultimate Warrior and let us try to beat the intensity out of one another.
Now there's an idea -- an attention getting one, and a money making one. I mean, instead of always using "warrior" as the adjective to fallaciously describe all those who aren't -- bring a real, and Ultimate, one in. Let the hardcore, natural intensity rip. Let both of us take our mischaracterized heads halfway out of our asses, just enough for us to be businessmen capable of discussing the serious potential success yet not enough to defuse a competitive grudge, and let the serious and creative thinkers at TNA, those without an agenda or envy problem, work out a program.
Put your silly a** fear and prejudice for my strong, bold character away and think SUCCESS. Hell, I'm all for great ideas. But don't expect me to keep my mouth shut when you don't come up with any. Of course, as I hinted at, it won't be inexpensive. Goldberg has an agent and has to give him a cut. I'm my own and I charge even more. The bigger obstacle, and definitely the one that has us both the most hated in the industry, is that we are strong individualists who don't need, or even necessarily want, to be in the business and can get along having great lives without it. But, what a way it would be for the most envied and despised to shove the final word down the throats of those Nor'Easterners, while TNA capitalizes off the incredible heat of it all."

I can see why Aries and Strong would pick RoH. For one, RoH now does around 1,000 fans, which is more than Impact :D Plus in RoH Strong and Aries are the tag champs, something they may or may not be in TNA. They both main event and are featured guys in RoH. Strong recently had a run at the title, something that won't happen in TNA. Samoa Joe held the RoH title for over a year when Aries beat him for the title. That won't be happening in TNA either. If there's a few injuries in the heavyweights and Styles, Daniels and Joe all move up, Aries and Strong might get a shot.
Both guys are young and in wrestling there's always another bridge to burn. Except Ultimate Warrior, that guy is never* coming back.
*By never I mean not in the next three months.

Before they went against TNA wishes at the PPV, Aries/Strong were getting a pretty large push both in tag and singles action. If I remember correctly, Aries/Strong/Shelley got a pretty huge win on Impact over Styles/Daniels/Sabin in an awesome match a few weeks ago. In a one-hour program, I can remember at least one solid segment built around them a week. I really think they shot themselves in the foot here and at least are handling it the right way. The loyalty to RoH is admirable, but there's no question that the better business angle is TNA. If they don't care about that, there's nothing wrong with staying in RoH and other small promotions, but when a multi-million dollar company puts their name behind you and shells out their most valuable asset to you (TV time) in my opinion it's hard to defend their actions if they want to continue being featured wrestlers in TNA. You mention the titles that they have not held, but would you put your titles on two individuals who very easily could have missed nearly your biggest PPV to date so that they could wrestle in front of 1,000 people?

The problem with Strong and Aries is they won't go very far in TNA as X-Division guys. It's all about Styles/Daniels/Joe and sometimes Sabin/Petey. TNA seemed to start a push, then suddenly they weren't on tv for two weeks, then they are tossed into an unannounced match on a ppv.
This leads to another question...is TNA making any money yet? RoH has to make decent money since they use a good bit of TNA talent and looking at some of the stars they've brought in Mick Foley, Eddie Guerrero, Jushin Liger, Ohtani, Masato Tanaka, Tommy Dreamer, Terry Funk, the Midnight Express (ok, they'll work for nothing), Jim Cornette, Bobby Heenan, Dusty Rhodes, the Great Muta, Ricky Steamboat, Matt Hardy, CIMA, Kenta Kobashi, and very soon Lance Storm (those are just off the top of my head with a few cheats for spelling.). TNA on the other hand was bleeding money before they went to Spike, I haven't heard anything since they started there.

I dunno about Aries and Strong not getting a push... considering a few months ago, Skipper was going for the belt. I mean, look at Lethal, he got squashed like 3 weeks in a row and then picks up a PPV win and a TV win...

I thought that Aries/Strong were getting a pretty solid push. They were part of the nameless/faceless good guys in the X Division to being given an actual storyline and actual heels. They might not have gotten their own 1-on-1 X Division title shot, but I don't think it would seem out of place if Aries took the "Sabin or Williams" spot and had a nice feud with one of the top guys.
I also think that it's simply not true that Styles/Joe/Daniels are the absolute ceiling of the X Division. They've really only had this feud for 3 months (not including Genesis where Joe turned on Daniels). It's still running it's course, and doing pretty damn well in my opinion. It's not necessary to clutter that threesome with other people contending, but I think the other X Division guys need to take this opportunity to differentiate themselves for when that feud ends. I thought Aries was one of those guys that could step up a level and be a contender, and I think Sabin/Williams/Shelley are all primed for a shot at the eventual winner of the feud. With the little amount of time able to devote to one storyline, showing up 4 hours late for an event seems like pretty rational thinking to me in giving their shot to somebody else.
