Recommend a game please
So, I spent the weekend playing EQII and enjoyed it. Actually it is crazy addictive, but that's another story. I want to find a game like this that doesn't have a monthly fee and fits the below Pros/Cons.
Pros:I liked the missions/quests.
The whole level upgrades.
Cons:
Lots of time running from town to town
Don't really care for the LOTR type mythical stuff
Also, I didn't really use any of the "Internet" chat stuff/groups.
I know I've started threads like this before, I'm just being careful before i sink $50 into a game

Well, if you don't want to be online there's plenty of cool RPGs to take a stab at. Warriors of Norrath is from the same people that did Everquest but has slightly more of a Diablo / UO feel to it. It's cheap on the PS2 and damned fun.
For the Xbox, you can't go wrong with Morrowind. The type of game you can spend 10 hours straight playing. Also, extremely cheap nowadays.
For the PC online, someone did mention Guild Wars. I haven't played that one. For the PC offline, there's literally dozens of good RPGs.
All of these are "Medieval" to one extent or another. There's many RPGs which are not medieval as well... Maybe you can be a bit more specific as to what you'd like?
