Wow, never thought it would happen. I wonder if we'll get all the music in tact. Even at a premium price, hopefully the original music will be on the set.

Me too but if the opening song is removed, I will be very disappointed but will still buy it

If Life Goes On is getting the opening theme removed, you KNOW it'll happen to the Wonder Years as well.

I'd bet most of the music will be replaced unfortunately.

I rather pay a lot of money for this set to help pay for the music issues like Freaks and Geeks then get it cheap with replaced music.

If they can get the rights to music for Freaks and Geeks they can do it for this.
I can't wait!
Hope there are some commentaries.

Hope this is true....though if they replace the music it'd be hard to get me to buy this. The music was a huge part of making the program work and create emotion.

The only problem with your argument is that Freaks and Geeks lasted less than a season.
Wonder Years ran for 6 seasons thus the costs will be greater if the original music is kept intact.

Count me in as another one hoping that they are able to keep the music for the season set intact.

I've never understood why they charge companies so much to use music for DVDs. A reasonable fee would be better than nothing I would think. But what do I know?

I thought The Wonder Years was one of those handful of TV Shows that would never come out (Others being Saturday Night Live, WKRP in Cincinatti, Ally McBeal, and the Adam West Batman).

In any case, I hope they can keep the music intect. If they can't get EVERY song, i hope they can at least clear the theme song and some of the more important ones.

This info might not be correct. I spoke to Gord, who runs the www.tvshowsondvd.com website. He spoke to a rep from Fox recently and he said nothing was in the works.

What exactly is coming out in the UK? The first season? The first and second season?

And Tolen...I don't know obviously, but I even remember close to almost a year ago Entertainment Weekly speaking to people from FOX (I think) who said that they were working on getting the show on dvd. Now, maybe since then its been scrapped due to money issues or something, but at a time it the idea was at least being strongly considered.

True, but they were 1 hour episodes as opposed to TWY's 1/2 hour ones.

Which is exactly what the sitcomsonline blog reads in their update from yesterday. I don't see the "news" here. The only news I saw was that there is a Wonder Years set listed on amazon.co.uk, but nobody has been able to confirm if that's the full first season with the original music in tact.

F&G had 18 hour long episodes. Wonder Years had over a 100 30 minute episodes. More Music, Big Difference.

Yes, but the up side of that is that Wonder Years ran for several seasons, meaning it had the viewers that "Freaks & Geeks", for scheduling and other reasons, did not. Certainly "Wonder Years" had much more visibility and its lengthy syndicated reairings on Nick at Nite, Fox/ABC Family, and elsewhere furthered that. Thanks to critics and word of mouth, there is no doubt that Shout didn't lose money on "Freaks & Geeks", so I'm sure big studio Fox could take a gamble on a Season 1 & 2 set with as much of the music intact as possible.
