deal for 2 disc sets at fye, 5 dollars after mir

I was looking at suncoast at the mall for some closing deals, didn't see anything that great might wait some more time. Although i stopped into FYE and saw some pretty good deals on some 2 disc se's. They are 15 dollars with a 10 mail in rebate.

Se7en
My Fair Lady
Boogie Nights
True Romance
Magnolia
Purple Rain

Their might be more but these are the ones I saw.

...which could VERY easily be missed due to the very specific subject of that thread. I have all three Austin Powers movies, so I skipped over that thread and would have had no idea of the deals above if the OP hadn't posted here. I think it's worthy of a separate post, or if it continued in the other thread, that should have been retitled. Thanks OP.

Agreed I could give two shits about Austin Powers.

Stupid, lazy question...is this going on at Coconuts too? I really don't feel like making the trek to FYE. (Or dealing with mall rats).

Thanks, OP, since I would ignore any Austin Powers thread. Definitely interested in finally picking up Magnolia.

I also agree that the original thread could be easily missed. However, I'm providing the original link just to show everybody who missed that there is a lot of valuable information posted there, especially thanks to member like jaschiero. Two days ago I thought I could have posted this topic in a seperate thread but I didn't want to discredit jaschiero because I think he is the one should be the real OP of this thread.

Hey man, as long as you credit him and (if you want) post a link to the other thread, I don't think it'd be a problem. Or at the very least, suggest to him that perhaps the thread title should encompass more deals than just AP. Regardless, to both OP's.

I didn't post this to get credit, just saw a deal and thought everybody would like to know about it. I didn't see the other thread on Austin powers. So in other words I really don't care who gets credit for it, just wanted other people to know about the deal. I have benefited plenty of times from the deal I have seen on these forums.

As long as people can get a deal. If you price match at FYE, you still get the MIR. It's always a better deal for employees to do that than actually use the employee discount, which would just be 30% off 29.99 for most new dvd's. For what it's worth, I also bought the Backstage pass discount card, 10% off sale prices as well. Not sure if Saw II has a rebate yet, but if it's a $7 rebate, you can ring the sale up under backstage pass, pricematch, and get 10% off because that and then the MIR which is perfectly fine b/c the discount card is basically 10% off used, new, or sale prices, and price matching just changes the sale price. Anyway, just how I use legit stuff for the best price.

Make sure to keep copies of you rebate form and UPCs. I've had bad luck with FYE rebates before.

I didn't know FYE pricematched. Is this common practice or just your local store?

I have had the same problem and have not bought anything there since early December. I do not really know what to do since they dont list what the rebate is for anymore, anyplace. It seems like it would be to much trouble to try to contact them.

I'm not sure. I believe its probably up to each store as we did not do price matching during Black Friday weekend through Christmas, per the manager. I'd just call one you'd go to and ask and make sure you bring in the flyer.

So, it might stand to reason that Coconuts has it too...

Just curious but is this deal at every FYE? I happened to be at the mall today and ditn have much time so I just ran through the store, and pretty much all of those 2-disc sets mentioned here were priced at $25.99 I believe. There was a big display up front for the movies that are like $10 minus $5 mir though.

Most of the titles were in a display up front that read $4.99 after MIR, and the titles had red $14.99 sale stickers. However, Amadeus and Lost Boys weren't up there so I had to get them from the regular racks, the stickers said $26.99 but they rang up at $14.99 and had rebates.
