i originally posted this question in the ddd universal sale thread, but havent had any response

so ill try again - im hoping this is okay

i just placed an order for 27 dvds during the ddd sale, including 24 of the older universal titles. at $6.32 per, this aint bad at all, but i am wondering if there are still better deals to be had (box sets, bulk purchasing, etc) for older classics?

specifically, is there any place i can order hollywood classics on dvd (pre 1960s) in bulk for cheap?

I don't think this probably the place...it's an odd thread, not you, the thread. It's really not a bargin, nor a request for a bargin on a specific title or box set. It's not necessarily a specific store forum question....it's more of a generic statement about pricing on older titles. Hmmmm, a generic cry for lower prices on non-specific titles in a general time frame....does that about sum it up?

The best deal many would tell you is columbia house and there is a dvd club thread. Otherewise the 20 % sale at ddd

but i have had experience with columbia house and dont like the whole ordeal of that system.

and i have ordered a small fortunes worth of dvds every ddd 20% sale for the past 2 years :P

i was hoping anyone out there would have the "inside scoop"
