Should I upgrade my wireless router for use with the XBox 360?
I'm using a Linksys 802.11b with the Microsoft wireless adapter with an Adelphia cable modem.
I had read glowing reviews about it and it seems to be working fine. I usually have 4 bars when I check signal strength on the dashboard.
I played a game of Madden with no issues and play online once a day usually on COD2 if I can get into a game. Some games are horrible and some fine, but I see most people are having the exact same issues so I didn't give it another thought.
In checking the COD game forums, though, I see some people saying that using a wireless can slow down the entire game even if I'm not hosting.
I worked on the assumption that if I'm not the host and I'm working fine things are okay with everyone. If the lag is bad I just hop off the game.
Anyway, I'm wondering if upgrading to a newer router will be a waste of money or if I will see a significant speed increase.
I'd appreciate any input.
Thanks

Keep the 802.11b, unless you are worried about security and need something better than WEP.
Your bottleneck is your cable service, not your router (assuming you continue to get good signal strength).

Thanks guys, one of my vendors insisted that was the case too.
I kept seeing threads elsewhere about people upgrading and doubts crept into my mind.
I appreciate the help.
