Does this movie deserve a Special Edition?? This is the only Jim Carrey movie I own and by far it's his best work. Maybe Warner Bros. will put out a 2-disc SE sometime. I know it didn't fair too well in theaters, but most of my dvd buying freinds own the dvd. I hope someday a SE is released. Is anyone else up for it?

Personally I didn't care for it that much, well at least not enough to buy the DVD. You never know about what titles they will rerelease, but my guess is that this wouldn't be at the top of the list. Another factor depends on the current disc, how is the transfer? Is it anamorphic? Are there extras? Commentaries?

I really liked this film, and I would double dip but I don't see it happening anyime soon. The next Darabont flick to get an upgrade will be The Green Mile (which hopefully will come out soon). Plus, of all the initial films directed by Darabont first released on DVD, this one came with the most extras. It actually had some extra scenes.

It's one of my favorite movies, I hope they do a nice set like they did with Shawshank

I love the movie but it doesn't have a big enough following like Shawshank so it won't get an SE anytime soon.

This was a solid film, with all the garbage and semi pointless stuff on the market for DVD today, why not? This film deserves a Special Edition release.

It had a very disappointing run at the box office.

For one, I liked this movie.

I actually thought it was better than The Truman Show, and I liked that one a lot too.

(I compare the two, because both are closer to serious roles for him than the other films he's been in.)

I don't think, however, that we'll be seeing a special edition soon, for the reason "Robert" gave.

But at the least, I'd hope this movie gets upgraded from a snapper to a keepcase. :)

An excellent film that deserved to do much better at the box office when initially released. I'd double-dip, but don't think it will ever be released as a SE.

I have a keepcase of this movie. I got it used at Moviestop. It may be a former rental, but instead of the cardboard placed on the outside of the case it's a paper sleeve like any other movie. Although no insert was inside.

Hollywood video does that with Warner releases. I bought a used copy of Training Day there, had it resurfaced elsewhere for free, and that was originally released snapper case only.

The Majestic was a box office flop, but it is a solid film that deserves a SE, but I agree it's bad box office won't help matters for a SE anytime soon.

This is indeed one of Jim Carrey's more serious and better roles.

I could see why some would pick this over Truman Show, Carrey used more of his natural persona in Truman Show, and in this he has to play somebody not like himself.
