She Wants Revenge?

Hey, has anyone heard this CD yet? I was thinking about picking it up from best buy while it is on sale for $7, but am still undecided.

I know these guys are a huge rip off of Joy Division, Interpol, etc., but for some reason I kinda like the songs I have heard on the radio even though I feel like I shouldn't

It's coming up on the bottom of most people's list on Rank 'Em as You Hear 'Em. I almost got it too but I'd rather spend my $ on something useful, like Nestle Quik.

I like the cover. Listened to the samples of the songs though and wasn't impressed.

I'm not into these guys at all, and I've given the album at least three solid listens.

It sounds like a watered-down Interpol with subpar songwriting.

I've only heard one song from Itunes. I seem to remember liking it, but I can't make a judgement on the whole album.

I really like this album, very addictive and fun. I hear some early Depeche Mode influence in the music. If you like the songs that are played on the radio, the rest of the album is just as good.

does the singer totally sound like the singer from interpol or is it just me? when i first heard tear you apart, i was surprised interpol came out with a new song already.

I liked it at first, but after listening more and more in depth, it's moved down on my list a bit.

The singer's name is Justin Warfield. He released an excellent hip hop album called My Field Trip to Planet 9 quite a few years ago. It was produced by Prince Paul. A few years later, he released a classic rock-sounding album called the Justin Warfield Supernaut. Now, he's the lead singer for a band that might as well be an Interpol clone. Talk about shifting genres...

aw, c'mon...it's a clever, well-written and catchy record. What more do you really expect these days? And for $7 ?? You gotta be kidding me complaining about that price when its practically a giveaway. Sheesh!

I ended up buying it, and I think its okay. Worth the $7 anyway IMO, but not earth shattering.

Matador with 90% of everything being excellent, must be 1993 or something.

Some of the best pop music ever produced is current, so I think it's safe to expect a lot "these days."

That said, I think the She Wants Revenge album is not bad. The first couple of songs are quite good, and while it's too early for an Interpol tribute band, I don't mind it as much as some when bands wear their influences on their sleeve.

I got the album in a $2 bin (it's a gold-stamp promo, I believe). There's more copies where that came from, so if someone wants one, email me. No guarantees, but I might be able to send out a couple for $2 plus shipping.

oops, meant that i thought 90% of their catalogue is excellent/cheap. new releases are always way cheap.

thanks for your constructive "criticism"
