Has anyone ever done a screening through something like this? How early do you have to get there in order to secure a seat?

depends if you want good seats, plus they over book for no shows. depending on what you think the demand is, i'd say an hour (for no stress good steats.) four friends and i showed up to a preview for Dawn of the Dead 04, at the last minute, lucky for us, there were 4 seats open together, in the very first row :( however, i think it actually enhance the movie, (being so close up to it.)

Depends pn the movie and the city. I try and get there at least an hour early for any half-decent advance screening in LA. Earlier if it's something popular (like King Kong).
