Gremlins 2

I saw this movie when I was about 6. I thought it was a good movie back then, now almost 19 yrs old, I just watched it again I have to say it's still a pretty good movie.

Ya know... I did like it though I diden't really feel that it captured the same style as the original, still a good movie but my favorite will still be Gremlins 1...

Fun, but not as good as the original film.

Dante got away with too much the second time around.

If you accept it for what it is, a spoof of the first film and a blatant advertisement for WB, it's a fun movie.

I remember when I saw it at a sneak preview screening. No one had any idea about the Hulk Hogan scene. We really thought the reel had broken for a moment there. The crowd started booing and hissing until the Gremlins' shadows appeared.

The broken reel gag was hilarious. Everyone starting moaning till the gremlins came on.

The broken reel gag fooled my little 6 year old mind. I spent 5 minutes afterwards trying to understand what happened

I'll bet this isn't on the "Top 10" list of either Donald Trump or Ted Turner.

This is one of those movies that was on HBO like a million times in the early 90's. I ended up watching it almost every time I saw it playing. definately not as dark as the first but I thought it had better laughs than the original. John Glover became one of my favorite actors from then on.

Am I the only one who thinks the female hooker gremlin looks like Lil Kim?

Lil kim? now you mention it!
I loved this when it come out. My favourite bit is when the brain one gives his speech about what he wants and then shoots the other gremlin.
"There are the Broadway shows - we'll have to find out how to get tickets. There's also a lot of street crime, but I believe we can watch that for free"
I remember me and my brother coming out of the cinema and saying "is it safe?" to just about everything.
Go to IMDB for some brillant quotes, especially the building announcer.

I remember renting the video and totally bugging when - instead of the Hulk Hogan and Paul Bartel interlude - they had the lame-o John Wayne video interruption.

That was bad news, dudes.

This is one of my favorite films. One of the closest movies to a live-action Looney Tunes as you can get. It's no surprise that Joe Dante went on to direct the live-action Looney Tunes movie.

I thought it was a great sequel...different from the first in style and tone, but so much damn fun it doesn't matter....in fact, I'd go so far as saying it was at least AS GOOD as the first... although, I'm a GREMLINS fanatic... bring on G3!!!! In addition to the movie being good, I think the teaser trailer for Gremlins 2 is one of my all time favourites.

Or how about the Bat Gremlin flying out the window, leaving the Batman symbol behind?

Gremlins 2 is probably the most underrated sequel in film history.

Also, I love the scene in the lab where they bring in the original actor from The Body Snatchers, holding the pod, saying "They're everywhere!" And the actor is actually still in black and white.

I remember being about 5/6 and seeing the Original Gremlins, and actually finding it scary. Then maybe a year or so later I saw the sequel, and I was kinda confused because it was much more humor driven and not so much going for scares. I also remember wanting a Gizmo like there was no tomorrow...if only the furbie Gizmo had been around when I was that young, it might have satiated my appetite somewhat....ah well

Definitely not as good as the original, but fun nonetheless.

Re: Gremlins 2

I believe this is the only forum on the Internet where people don't prefer the sequel over the original.
